Those must be some boring 21 year olds I'll believe it when I see it! -
Mrazek "Maturing, could bounce back like Howard"
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to chaps80's topic in General
Do you remember when you were 21? Do you know any 21 year olds? I, and most people I know, were still pretty big immature dumbys till about 23. Larkin can't even legally drink in Michigan yet. If Mrazek was 21 and had cocky attitude problems I'd be a little more understanding. But at 25 you're supposed to have your mind and your life right. There's a bigggg difference between a 20/21 year old and a 25 year old in my mind. -
Chris Illitch ---> Jim Devellano ---> Ken Holland Clearly Holland has been under the control of Devellano's, and therefore Chris Illitch's, "suggestions" this entire time.

You mock me. MS Paint. Pronounced Gif or Jif?

Mrazek "Maturing, could bounce back like Howard"
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to chaps80's topic in General
Regardless of when forwards and goalies usually start playing, both entered the league early, but Mrazek is a grown man at 25 and Larkin is a baby at 21. I'm not sold on either yet. Larkin and Mrazek both have a longggg way to go and a lot to prove before either are considered a 1C or fulltime starter. -

I'm definitely not as thrilled with Larkin after last season. You can call it a sophomore slump (I don't really believe that old mythos), but I think his first season came at the benefit of playing with Zetterberg and the muscley protection of Abdelkader. He didn't have that this season and his production dropped off, as well as he became a -28. I don't put a ton of stock into +/- but -28 is alarming. However, unlike Mrazek, Larkin is still a baby at 20 and no one is questioning his work ethic or attitude. I trust management, and management seems to trust him. That being said, no I don't think he will be the phenom that he seemed like he would be when he first entered the league, but he can probably become a top 6 player for us. -
This guy is always getting injured in weird ways. Glad he's all good.

based on his most recent season he barely has backup skill -
7 seasons didnt matter much when Mrazek won the job... on how many games?
-
Howard's already unseated Mrazek before with minimal NHL games (26) under his belt. Can easily do it again after the season he just went through. If a guy with his skill set and confidence heard things about himself in the LGW Forums gets determined to play at his best to silence his critics, he's probably someone you want to keep a look out for in front of you. I doubt Mrazek thinks the job will be easy to grab on to. Sent from my PC using interwebs

BBQ Pizza? Biology. Physics is cool with all the quantum mechanics and blackholes and super trippy space stuff, but Biology has cute animals in it. Facebook or Twitter?

It's approaching 2 years now

I'm already building a case against Petruzzelli for the 2021/22 season

And people complain about Blashill...

Nope. I hope one of AA/Larkin/Rasmussen can take the reigns from Zetterberg 4 years from now. I hope Zberg finishes his career on top like the thoroughbred he is. If this thread was called "Zetterberg 2017 #1 Center" everyone would probably say "yeah no s***" and move along with no mention of Larkin. But old love seems to die hard with goalies so I'm not surprised.

It's natural to want to ice the best team. That team includes Howard. But yeah, hopefully Big Ras can unseat Larkin
-
Vegas didnt want him, Detroit doesnt want him, only LGW prays he can still unseat Howard lol

Ken Holland "We protected our best goaltender"

TIL you have to tell someone face to face your pissed at them in order to be so, and Petr Mrazek must be notified before he's allowed to be shopped. -
I wonder why...

Makes sense. Job is Howard's to lose again. The controversial part I think is the comfort level with Coreau. He was worse than Mrazek last year yet theyre comfortable with him playing 20 to 30 games as Howards backup? I'm not quite on board with that yet. This team is making it very clear theyre prepared to move forward without Mrazek in the mix. He royally pissed off the organization somehow, wish we knew what he did. -

Like I said, this board is starting realize that Mrazek isnt the next coming of Hasek and Howard isnt LOLgarbage. The truth, like with most things, lies somewhere in the middle. That middle is we have 2 very average starting goaltenders. Both with value and problems in their own right. -

You said Howard ran his mouth with the media and was generally "negative". This article says Howard got fat over the summer. What am I missing? -
