  1. Apparently there is going to be a big Sports Illustrated article tomorrow on OSU. If it's as bad as it sounds I don't know how the death penalty can't be an option (For the record I don't think they will get that). Rumors are talking about drug trafficking, prostitution, brand new cars for family members, cash from boosters, etc. All sounds like OSU knew about it all too. Wow!!

  2. I'm starting to believe more and more Tressel doesn't coach in 2011. He either "resigns", or OSU uses him as a scapegoat to avoid more penalties just like what U-M basketball did. Like GW said I think they should get a more severe penalty then USC. Not the death penalty, but something that sends a message.

Not too long ago I heard Eddie George say he was shocked at what has been going on at OSU. At first I laughed, but after thinking about it I believe him. George didn't play for Tressel. He probably assumed Tressel was like your typical pastor (what everyone thought pretty much besides Michigan fans).

The guy has been cheating before he even came to OSU. Google his Youngstown QB. I don't even think this has tipped the ice berg yet.

  3. All five suspended players coming back. Color me shocked.

I wouldnt have been all that heartbroken if TP had left.

Unless TP wins a nati or a heisman I think he goes down as one of the most overrated recruits to ever play the game. Kid is a head case, and from watching OSU (which is a solid amount) he looks like a HORRIBLE teammate to me. I swear at least twice a game he's giving an ear full to a WR, or Tressel. Always looks like Tressel wants to slap him straight across the face when they talk.

Always thought his talents would be used better at 2 schools he picked OSU over: Penn State, and Oregon.

  4. He did take over for a defense that was already stacked and can pretty much coach itself with Ray Lewis back there, but I have to see this as nothing but an A+ signing. thumbup.gif The transition back to MICHIGAN FOOTBALL begins!

Thought the same thing. Must be nice having Lewis, Suggs, and Reed but his track record is still outstanding. Top 20 defense in most categories at almost every stop. Lots of college coaching, and the NFL stuff is a bonus. He's doing something right. He is going to have his work cut out for him.

  5. I don't buy Miles rejected Michigan. I think it was the other way around just like 3 years ago. I'll put money down he wasn't offered.

As for Hoke, well first of all welcome. Second, I don't know what to think. After a quick reading I could see this being a great hire. On the other hand, I could see us going into a Notre Dame decade. I guess that's why we play the game. Should be a interesting year in AA.

  6. There he goes.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5999744

I'm surprised he turned down the Miami deal, rumored to be around a lengthy $8 million a year deal and being in a warm-weathered football city. That would make him the highest paid NFL coach over guys like Bill Belichick, Mike Tomlin and Mike Shanahan, without ever winning a Super Bowl.

Instead he took a $5.5 mill per year deal with San Francisco's mess of a team. Should be a better situation for him to turn them around though, considering the NFC West's lackluster of a division. I think he'll do well, since he won't have to deal with Belichick and Rex Ryan twice a year.

Hopefully Brady Hoke or whoever decides to coach here does the same.

I think the location played a big factor. He doesn't even have to move, and can play his "friend" Pete Carrol twice a year. No shame we lost him there. It's a great opportunity.

I've been doing a lot of research on Hoke, and really warming up to the idea of this. My only problem with him is I wonder if he will get full support from everyone. This needs to happen this time around. It was one of the reason's for RR's failure. As of now I think I'd take Hoke over Miles.

  7. Had the worst week to lose internet for no good reason, but here's what I think briefly.....

-Hoke could be a good hire. Wouldn't be "sexy" at this time regarding a national uproar, but neither was Czich, Kelly, Tressel, and a handful of others. I could see him being a great hire, or another crappy hire. Won't argue for him either way. I would just support him like I did with RR. Not my first choice though. Which leads me to my second thought..

-Sounds like Jim really wants the Michigan job, but on the other hand has NFL dream$$. I can't blame him if he goes to the NFL. I think it's not over with Harbaugh like Herbstret said today. It could be, but until I see him at the podium of an NFL team I will hold onto hope. I don't this is wishful thinking either. I really think he's torn.

I question NFL teams. Has Harbaugh ever coaches a major position in the NFL? Do they remember Saban, Spurrier, etc? Putting biased aside I still think NFL teams are rolling the dice on him yet willing to pay him ridiculous amounts of money. Guess I don't understand....

  8. Time to give this thread a 2nd life. The good games are finally starting to start. What are your thoughts so far?

-I think this is Rich Rod's last game on the sidelines regardless of outcome

-Not sure what to think about Michigan's chances, but I'm leaning towards a lose. 28-24 MSU.

-I don't think MSU stands a chance against Bama. 37-17

-I think Pryor, and the boys shouldn't be playing in the bowl game.

  9. Go figure I miss all this Lions action! Saturday got in a really bad accident. So Sunday comes around and I'm a half corpse. I started watching the 1st quarter, but the pills knocked me out. Maybe I should take vicodin before every road game..hmmmm

Seriously though good win, and hope everyone has a safe Christmas!

  10. For the first time in eight years I can say my Irish beat U$C. I don't care how down the condoms are, that was such an amazing feeling. I hope Kiffin has years of mediocrity ahead of him. At least they can enjoy their bowl game in a few weeks. Oh, scratch that too. I frickin love Brian Kelly. I finally see some toughness and pride coming back.

I was rooting for ND. What a great game. I hate Kiffin, and there was nothing better then watching Ronald Johnson lose the game. I was furious when Carrol paid off Rojo, and stole him from us. Ahhh good ol' karma.

  11. If Rich Rod gets fired, it will be this week...before the bowl game. Greg Robinson would coach the bowl game.

As for Michigan State, I don't care if its a share and they probably wont go to a BCS bowl but...

    2010 BIG TEN CHAMPIONS!!

Agreed, but Robinson won't be coaching. It would be Calvin Magee.

Congrads to MSU. Looks like a Saban vs MSU bowl game could very well happen.

  12. What a pathetic, piss poor effort!!!!! Personally I think RR is done, but there's a lot of people who disagree with that. I'm on the fence on what I would do. What needs to happen is early next week Michigan needs to say RR is staying no matter what to help his recruiting OR they need to fire him. If they did fire him I would want a solid plan with Harbaugh in place. He will come. I just don't want a Les Miles 2 mess.

  13. I absolutely hate this team. Look at yesterday's starting 5:

    Stuckey: 6-15, 17 points. 1 assist, awesome.

Hamilton: 4-12, 12 points. WHY IS HE STILL A PISTON?!

Wallace: 2 points, 6 rebounds, sigh, waste of time.

Maxiell: 1-6, 2 points, 4 rebounds. Worst player in the NBA.

Prince: 2-7, 6 points. Absolute joke that he's still in this team.

Monroe 6 points, 8 rebounds, just start him for crying out loud, this year is already a mess, might as well get SOMETHING out of it.

Man this team is a complete and utter joke. I could handle losing but losing and still playing the same old washed up guys, why bother?

Agree. Start Monroe, Daye, Gordon, Charlie V, and Bynum. Might as well half those guys need experience anyways. It would also pave the way for a No. 1 pick.

  14. I think Michigan can win if three things happen.

On offense - Don't turn it over, this offense is explosive and Michigan could have beat tOSU last year if it wasn't for those five(?) interceptions by Forcier.

On defense - Just make a few stops please? Or fire Robinson, man couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag.

On special teams - Ignore field goals. If it is 4th and less than 7 and in FG range, go for it. If it is 4th and more than 7 still in FG range, just pooch it.

I really think we should keep Rich Rod, it is just the defense and special teams that are absolutely horrible which I think could be fixed with better coaches in those areas(and of course Rich not being so negative at times with his comments)

I agree with all this. I will add G. Robinson isn't the only one who needs to go. Braitwaite, and Gibson need to leave with him. I really believe Robinson isn't the only leaving after this year. Special teams: I agree always go for it if we are in FG range. ST can be fixed if he kind find a kicker, and they bench Gallon. Wow he's awful back there. They should put Stonum, Dileo, or heck even Vincent Smith back there. Wish Odoms was healthy.

^^^ Good video ^^^^ LETS GO BLUE!!!

  15. My gut feeling is already starting to turn, but still not sure. This is what I'm thinking...

-I think they match up against OSU much better then Wisconsin. OSU still has the advantage obviously especially on defense, but I think they can play with them if we don't turn the ball over. Their D reminds me of Iowa, and we put over 500 yards on them. Michigan's defense was just as bad last season, and they had a great plan against OSU last year.

-MSU is having a special season. They are catching all of the breaks. Not taking anything away from them, but you need the lucky breaks to have these kind of seasons. I can name 4 or 5 key lucky breaks in Michigan's 97 season that got them to 12-0. Michigan beating OSU would be MSU's final break.

-OSU has been starting slow lately, and although Pryor is good he just doesn't scare me at all. If OSU starts slow, and we start out hot we will be in it all game.

  16. I'd also like to add that I don't think Tay is really overrated, but I don't think he's the type of player to have an offense ran through, and doesn't have the leadership qualities like Billups and the Wallace's have. Him and Stuckey keep running their mouths and things they don't agree with the coach about, and the other veterans like Rip and Ben are just keeping their mouths shut along with the rookies and sophomores.

It's sad when you think about it too, this team has always had the attitude that it's their way and no one's going to tell them what to do because they've had this self-entitlement after winning the championship.

The attitude has to go. It will poison the younger guys, and then there will be bigger problems. It's good to have Ben around (I was against the signing at the time..have since changed my tune on that), but I'm sure he doesn't have the same voice in the locker room as he once had..

  17. I had heard about that proposed trade. s***, Boston would never do it but I would take that trade still for just Rondo alone. I agree with everything you said. This team is in shambles. Last night against the Warriors was yet another example. Prince and Kuester going at it (again) on the sideline during the game. I always thought Prince was very overrated, so his entire act this season is really annoying to me. Stop bitching about the coach Tayshaun and learn to take a jump shot that doesn't line drive its way to the basket. Joe D needs to use that expiring contract and get Prince out of here for something valuable. I like watching the bench play more than the starters. Give me Gordon, Villanueva, McGrady and Monroe over Stuckey, Rip, Prince and Big Ben any day. Big Ben has actually been fine, but let's play the hell out of Monroe and see what he's got.

I agree about Prince. I've always thought the same thing as well. He needs to go. I remember that Boston trade, and laughed Ainge actually even offered it. I don't blame Joe D on that one, because at the time I think everyone would have freaked out and called for Dumars head. Looking back now though wow that would have been nice.

A guy I think we could get for cheap is Sessions from Minnesota. He's very underrated if you ask me, and Minn has a log jam at PG. A real big one if Rubio ever comes over.

  18. I really liked him at ND. He was one of the few coaches I was hoping would get retained after Weis got fired. Tenuta's schemes were a terrible fit for the personnel on defense; I put way more of the blame on Tenuta than Brown. I think it would be a great move for Michigan.

As for the Irish, Utah was clearly very overrated, but that was the best win for this program in a long time. Drilling a ranked opponent at home is a huge step for Brian Kelly especially for recruiting purposes heading into next season. I always believed Kelly was the right man for the job, but this win means a lot for the mindset of everyone at Notre Dame.

Thanks! I was wondering if he was a bad coach too, or Tenuta's blitzes just hung Brown's DB's out to dry. I know he's a good recruiter, but thats all I really knew for sure. As for Kelly he is the right guy. It will actually happen in time this time if you ask me.

  19. I'll take ugly wins. Purdue's offense is horrible to say the least, but the defensive effort was nice to see. Zero TD's allowed. That defense needs some kind of confidence boost heading into the next 2 week very difficult weeks...

And to GoWings....What do you think of Corwin Brown as a coach? I'm kind of hoping to see him be added next year as a DB coach.
