I was half serious. As CRL pointed out, a Swiss League team with less talent than GR just beat an NHL team, so yeah, it would be possible. A 1 in 10 chance maybe. Good teams get beaten by bad teams all the time, that's why even the best team doesnt go 82-0. And bad teams beat teams who are better than they are which is why even the worst teams never go 0-82. If the Griffins were in the NHL they would be a bottom feeder for sure, but they wouldnt lose every game. There would be some nights they beat better competition. Thats how sports work. Otherwise no one would bother to watch.

You're comparing one season. I'm talking about his entire career. Daley has been, over his career, a better defenseman than Bowey is now, or will ever be IMO. Even if Bowey's career eventually reaches the level of Daley's someday (doubt it), that doesnt make him suited to mentor younger guys NOW. Even IF Bowey is better NOW, that doesnt make him a better fit to play with a young, developing Dman, which Bowey still is himself.

The Pro-Zadina faction isn't Anti-Seider y'know. Seider will make the Wings before Zadina. That doesn't make Zadina a bust. I consider myself Pro-Seider and Pro-Zadina.

Daley has consistently over his career been far better at defense than Bowey ever will be. His age may have caught up with him, but his experience and mental acuity at the position are a far better benefit to Cholowskis development than Bowey's. Daley has played over 1000 games in the NHL. And Bowey? Barely 100. Yes. I think Cholowski is better served playing with Daley than Bowey. And I know you know this, but it's not just games. D pairs usually play together in practice too. Big help to DC being paired with TD there as well. Probably more so than actual games. He learns how to play better defense (where he needs improvement) from Daley in practice and they put it into practice during games. Makes perfect sense to me.

Cholowski will learn alot more paired with Daley than ge ever will from Bowey. I know u think more highly of Bowey than I do, but I don't see him as an upgrade over TD.

Agreed. Not an Abby fan myself. Just not bothered by the whole thing. Is he overpaid? Sure. But its not like he can turn himself into a guy who's worth that salary. He's not lazy or a headcase. He seems to be a good locker room guy. He will never live up to that contract, and that's not his fault. It's not like he can give the money back. I seriously think there are people who hate him so much that they would trade Seider just to be rid of him.

Replace Yzerman with Holland and I am sure there are numerous posts in here from you saying basically the same thing The exact same things CRL is criticizing SY for is exactly the same things u criticized KH about for years. With Holland gone, you're posts are less frequent and more level headed. Boring.

I remember back before it was officially announced I said that anyone who thought Yzerman was going to be a big change from Holland was going to be disappointed. I didnt agree with the Nemeth or Flip signings either, but I certainly wasnt surprised by it. You've turned into Leftwinger, LOL.

I don't think that Devellano and Illitch are controlling SY at all. Yzerman was there when KH was GM. If there was any puppeteering going on Steve would have witnessed it. I cant see him leaving a job where he had free reign and built a contender to manage a team that was needing a rebuild and handcuffing their GM. Doesnt make sense for him to do that.

The jump from the DEL is a lot bigger than the jump from the AHL. Seider looked good for a kid from what is basically a AA league, but he wasn't like "needs to be in the NHL now" good. Starting him in GR could be a slower transition for him. With Daley and possibly Green gone by the TDL, he can still be brought up then to play with a team that is already out of the playoffs. He gets the NHL experience without making enough of a difference to move them out of a good draft position.

Think I'll make the trip to GR for a game this season instead of JLA.
