    Flames re-sign Robyn Regehr

Sutter is very smart (I do question the hiring of Mike Keenan) but that is another story TSN link EDIT: Too bad for them they lost Roman Hamrlik to Montreal

    everyone quit whining!

I totally agree, why spend money on Bertuzzi, Calder, Lang or Schneider? Bertuzzi is a has been, Lang is a has been, Schneider is a has been and Calder is a never will be. When we lose Markov like we are going to, people on this message board are going to be b***hing and complaining about who we could've had, or who we should've had. The guys running the Wings no way more about what they are doing then the executives in the NHL that spent out on older players. I remember when we got Lang, everyone was excited as hell and then he wore out his welcome and people got pissed. Calder was never welcomed here, but when we got him, people were thrilled for the fact that Williams was gone. Shanahan and Federov, people were mad when they "bolted" and now there is a rumor on this board every day about their respective returns to the Wings. It makes no sense at all for this crap to have to go on any longer.

player list of whos still available

No I definetly didn't see it either, I would also consider Lang a big name, even though I don't think anyone wants him.

    Blues Sign Kariya

so now they have Tkachuk, Weight, Kariya. Not a bad team, they should pass Nashville for #2 in the division.

    Scott Niedermayer to retire

Good, for some reason I don't like Neidermayer. I always pictured him playing for the Avs or the Hawks.

    Markov to the Pens?

Does anyone have ESPN Insider, to tell me what Markov would get from Pitt (money, years)? I would say from what I have heard (4 mil, 3 years) even though I wouldn't give it to him. Any other sources that say Markov to the Pens?

    Hasek close to re-signing..

I agree with you on that it wouldn't be the end if we don't get Bert back. I like Guerin, Kozlov and Zubrus is kind of underrated if you ask me. I wouldn't mind seeing Shanny come back either. Screw Markov, we don't need him. We have Rafalski, Lidstrom, Chelios, Lilja, Lebda, Kronwall and Quincey, which is 7. Forwards we have Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Holmstrom, Maltby, Draper, Cleary, Samuelsson, Filppula, Kopecky, Franzen and hopefully Hudler. This gives us 11. If a team wants to take a chance on Bertuzzi and give him a multi-year deal, let them. We can just get someone else.

How many here have played hockey?

I've played since I was 5, it started with good old ice skating, then went to the travel teams from K-8th grade, play for my high school team now. Hockey is a good sport, as a player I can enjoy more as a fan.
