Andersson breaks foot - down another center

I've been saying the same thing since John Wharton left. it hasn't been the same since. -
Is the Real Brendan Smith Finally Starting the Show Up?
LidstromIsASuperhero replied to NYC Wings Fanatic's topic in General
It's hard to say, but he does seem to be finding ways to get away with more mistakes than before at least. He's scoring more, too. Overall I'd say he still has a ways to go, but he is doing better and will continue to get better. His skill set is more appropriate for a forward imho, but he has a lot of tools that will at least make him a wildcard threat to the opposition on a regular basis. I don't think it is fair to say he will never be relevant because he crapped the bed in a series against the league's best team in a playoff series after his 48 game rookie season. -
I say give him the rest of this season, and if he continues not to produce or really show much of anything, we use our other compliance buyout on him next offseason. we're stuck with him until then. He's definitely underperfomed so far, regardless of the excuses.

Wow, being on this subject really makes me notice all the advertisements I normally just totally ignore.

Why not three scoring lines? We have the personnel to do it. Franzen-Zetterberg-Brunner Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Samuelsson Nyquist-Filppula-Cleary Miller-Helm-Tootoo Mursak-Abdelkader-Eaves Kronwall-Quincey White-Ericsson Smith-Colaicovo Kindl -

Report: Wings close to signing Carlo Colaiacovo
LidstromIsASuperhero replied to Greatness=PavelDatsyuk's topic in General
...until he gets hurt for like, a third of the season. Then Kindl will get some time. I want him to play too, but I would rather have a more solid defnense all around. In all honesty, I think a shut down type of defender to be a plug on the bottom pairing would be better. He could play conservatively and add insurance to the offensive risks that Brendan Smith is prone to taking. -
LIdstrom sells 2.9 Million dollar home
LidstromIsASuperhero replied to Wingsfan72's topic in General
I seem to remember from class that the limit for a literal cash transaction was $10k without authorities being notified so yeah, something is up. -
I think if we keep this roster, a lot of it will depend on how Smith, Nyquist, and Brunner play. They are all rookies with huge potential to possibly make an immediate impact.

Lol of all the teams he could've picked from, he chose the one that has been pretty much the consistently worst team in the league the last 20 years, in addition to being the coldest and most perpetually broke franchise. Good look, ya douchebag.

I don't really view this as a lateral move because the Griffins' former coach left that position to be an assistant in Dallas.

Top Swiss-leaguer Brunner to sign with Wings, Babcock has big plans
LidstromIsASuperhero replied to evilzyme's topic in General
Watching his hightlights i am most impressed by his ability to get that shot off in tight. He will need that because he isn't gonna have as much room to work in the nhl.- 139 replies

Rob Zombie isn't too bad a director imho. I've liked the movies I've seen so far of his.

NHL Salary Cap Temporarily Set At $70.3 Million For 2012
LidstromIsASuperhero replied to Diluvian04's topic in General
I wouldnt move both Smith and Nyquist for anyone. Is the salary cap 'decided upon' by the owners or is it based on a ratio of who gets what percentge of income? If the owners pick it, I think it's proof that they can't control their own spending... still. -
How are we to view this Finals matchup?
LidstromIsASuperhero replied to unsaddleddonald's topic in General
It simply has a lot to do with goaltending imho. Staying healthy and getting hot at the right time didnt hurt either. -
I feel like this is a year where goaltending has really stolen the show, which honestly irritates me. None of the traditionally good teams did anything this year.

I think it would be generally agreed upon that Kyle Quincey was pretty underwhelming during his latest tenure with the team. Coupling that with the fact that Red Wings management has mentioned our desire to acquire another defenseman as well as mentioning that Smith will be on the roster next year, does this really leave room for Kyle Quincey if Lidstrom stays another year? He is a restricted free agent, but his contract is expiring so we really have three different options: 1. Let him walk. 2. Sign him. 3. Extend to him a qualifying offer. I feel like option 3 would be in the team's best interest. This way, he either signs for the lowest amount he can for, or another team offers him a contract that we either have the opportunity to match or receive draft pick compensation if he signs with the other team. Arbitration though, I think would be an obstacle to this. Assuming Stuart leaves, we could wind up with, best case scenario imho: Lidstrom-Suter Kronwall-White Ericsson-Smith Kindl Or, worst case scenario, something like this: Kronwall-White Ericsson-Quincey Kindl-Smith Whoever Or anywhere in between really. What do you guys think?

Lol i did the same after the first sentence and a half of paragraph two.

Which current NHL players do our top prospects compare to?

MY free agent list i would shop this off season

I thought jokinen was a ufa, too. If parise doesnt ecome available, i would go after jokinen and stewart. A third line with jokinen centering it would make our depth awseome, plus we would get a gritty forward who can score and fight in stewart.
