My post was in response to Zadina isnt talented not Zadina doesnt score enough. The former is false but the latter is true. youd be hard pressed to find anyone happy with Zadinas point totals including the player/coaches/management but im sure all are happy with his play on both sides of the puck. The production a player should have is relevant when talking about a 21yo consistently driving play. Mantha was lazy af Zadina works his a$$ off.
-
Do you watch the games or just stat watch? His raw stats arent near good enough but his underlying stats are real good. Im not sure if hell ever live up to the 6oa hype but he still looks like a real good top6 winger to me.
-
Do you really believe this?

I came here from hfboards because that place was becoming a wasteland and someone recommended this place but this place is no better. A lot of horrible opinions here maybe the worst ive seen.

7/11 - "Backup GDT in case...ya know" - Wings vs Caps
redw1ngs replied to The 91 of Ryans's topic in General
No wings have had much of anything going tonight but probly Rasmusens best game of the season. -
I think expectations for 6oa pick are to high and expectations for top6 winger are to high. At 21yo Zadina is on par for both. His game should evolve beyond age 21. Right now hes producing as a 2w add another 10 points hes a low end 1w another 10 and hes average 1w.
-
Ya, Raymond will be a elite 90-100pt 1w. Zadina wont get to that level but he could be an average 50-60pt 1w. Both are also very strong defensively for there age.
-
A 2w is approx 35-45pt player. Zadina is already scoring at that pace at 21yrs old. Hes a puck hound plays well in all 3 zones. The underlying stats are good the pts will improve. A 1w is 50+pts player. If you dont believe Zadinas pts will improve at all then I guess hes just a solid 2w.
-
Zadina isnt the sniper at this point that we thought we were getting at 6oa but he is still a very skilled offensive player. He passes the eye test and while the point production hasnt been where it needs to be yet his underlying stats are very good. The question isnt if hes a top6w its if hes a 1w or 2w.
-
Both are big men but the skill level is night and day. Well see what Soderblom can do in na next year but i think he will be better then Rasmusen as early as next season. Some will scoff at this but imo Soderblom has top line upside.
-
Thx Ive been a big ras apologist for to long I just dont see it happening for him. He doesnt have the hockey iq to be a top6 player he better add more strength if he wants to be a effective bottom6 player.
-
Soderblom should be what we hoped Rasmusen would be. Side note- I cant copy anything from twitter how do you post tweets?

Zadina-Veleno-Raymond would be hella fun to. -
If Holland didnt botch 2017 pick 2018 pick would probly look much better. Zadina is a 40pt winger with a skilled c like Necas he would be a 60pt winger.

This team should not be trading for 34yo Kessel. If thats what this team needed we would have just signed Bobby. We need to sell not buy. -
Zadina has been good just hasnt been producing as much as he probly should be. Rasmusen could be a very good shutdown 4c if he can work on his stregth. Not what you want with a 9oa pick but it is what it is at this point.
-
Yea. None in prominent roles tho. Zadina and Veleno mid6 w/c, Hronek bottom4d, Rasmusen 4 line w/c
-
All of the above. Order of likeliness Zadina, Veleno, Hronek, Rasmusen.

2/11 GDT - Nous Sommes Screwed - Wings vs Canadiens
redw1ngs replied to The 91 of Ryans's topic in General
Im not going off this game. Veleno is the better player imo proved what he can do with good linemates. Rasmusen looks lost out there constantly losing puck battles and getting pushed around by players half his size. He sucks. -

Rasmusen is really really really bad. Hes not a capable 3c let alone 1c. Suter and Veleno are much better imo. -

Id go with 4rd/2ld Leddy-Seider Staal-Stecher Lindstrom-Hronek
-
Kravtsov is Svechnikov just a 3yrs younger.

two-way contract, no longer waiver exempt. Cholowski could be a Red Wing again if Seattle attempt to send him to the minors.

1C / 2C - Dylan Larkin 2C / 3C - Joe Veleno, Michael Rasmussen, Theodor Niederbach 3C / 4C - Chase Pearson Larkin is our only top 6 center currently. Maybe one of the three players listed can emerge as a 1C / 2C. Center may be our biggest area of weakness. 1LW / 2LW - Jakub Vrana, Lucas Raymond 2LW / 3LW - Tyler Bertuzzi, Robert Mastrosimone 3LW / 4LW - Adam Erne, Evgeny Svechnikov 1RW / 2RW - Filip Zadina 2RW / 3RW - Robby Fabbri, Jonatan Berggren 3RW / 4RW - Givani Smith, Elmer Soderblom Our biggest area of strength is on the wings but we could use another top 6 RW depending on how Berggren pans out. 1LD / 2LD - 2LD / 3LD - Dennis Cholowski, William Wallinder, Albert Johansson, Eemil Viro, Jared McIsaac, Donovan Sebrango 1RD / 2RD - Moritz Seider 2RD / 3RD - Filip Hronek, Gustav Lindstrom, Antti Tuomisto, Seth Barton We currently have the most depth at LD but no standout top pair. Maybe one of the 6 players listed can emerge as a 1LD but I wouldn't count on it. Our best player is at RD but pretty thin after Seider. I don't think we have a single goalie that projects to be a #1. Maybe Petruzzelli but there's no guarantee he even signs. Based on this I think we should target C / LD / G in the upcoming draft. McTavish / Hughes / Wallstadt with #6 Raty / Lambos / Cossa with #23 Pinelli / Chayka / Lennox with #38 / #48 / #52. Target another RW and RD in rounds 3 / 4.
