...and now we've run this off on a tangent. Lets get back to the game, and I will just say that I am really disappointed in the leadership on this team, from the coaching to the captains. It is said lack of leadership that has this team stumbling in the standings. Let's hope getting Dats back changes things in Minny. We're only 3 points out of falling out of the playoffs...it's time for leaders of this team to step it up..NOW. We are tied with Boston with 93 points, and right now they have the 8th seed. We need to rattle of a couple of regulation wins here this week.

leadership has nothing to do with salary cap. ahhhh....the old go be a leafs fan bit because you can't be a real wings fan if you don't like everything that has red on it...its old man, find something new. I am on the anti-jimmy bandwagon, but you have to call a spade a spade, this team needs a purpose and inspiration from their leaders, something's wrong in that department. Leadership is by example. btw, never touched NHL 15 or even 1. Again, the old, you know nothing because you disagree with me is getting old. while we're on the subject of kronwall, he has failed miserably in leading this D. If Chelios were still here he'd have Q's head for lunch for his crap play last night. its not cool to question fanism. Where were you in 1985? You probably came to the Joe just to try to win a free car. I've bled this team since I was 9 years old. I most definitely have the right to question things.

..and tell me again, when Stevie was near the end, how many times we either had to scratch and claw to just make the playoffs or were in danger of backing our way out of the playoffs? Let alone tell me when Stevie would have sat because of an injury that he couldn't just "ice up" and play, especially when it comes down to two of the most important games of the year which would have more than likely secured the playoffs. I am not questioning Dats contributions to this team or his ability to still be an impact player. I am questioning the entire leadership philosophy of this team, starting with him. Z says he's 100%, so why are we to believe that he isn't? He just is what he is anymore, more than a shell, but nowhere near what he was 5-6 years ago, but hey, he is older and not as good anymore. The problem is, these "leaders" today will even sit out a playoff game with nagging injuries, even elimination games, Stevie, Shanny, Hull, Feds, Igor, Nick would have NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER done so. Disrespect my ass, the fact is, he makes $7M to ******* take this team to the playoffs, not sit because his ankle hurts, again, THEY MAKE SHOTS THAT TAKE CARE OF NAGGING PAINS!!! If his ankle was broken, I understand, but a sore ankle? Gimme a break! In my job, I am working in small places lifting and throwing things all day long, if my back hurts do I get time off? NO! I get to take 2 alieve and get the f*** back in the hole! This isn't December anymore, these games are pretty much game 6's and 7's for us, this team needs leadership to lead! All this blaming Jimmy and Petr is stupid, Petr played well enough last night to win, he had 1 bad goal, but the D (Q especially) let him down in the end. Even Patrick had bad goals against him, even Hasek. Its ******* time for the leaders to inspire this team, if keeping this streak alive isn't important to the leaders of this team, to keep history going, to keep this organization talked about among the elite teams off al time, then ******* retire and let other players who want to preserve history and keep this team excelling take over! Sure, 1st round exits suck, and no way this team is favored to win a Cup this year, but you have to get to round 1 in order to have a chance....f*** letting the streak go, if this team cannot win a Cup every year, then damn it, isn't it important enough to have something to brag and be proud of? The streak is on the line, if they miss this year, they will never get anywhere near it again. I want to Cup too, but if we can't win it, why just say f*** the playoffs? Those of you who don't care about making the playoffs year after year will never be happy, because for you its the Cup or tank. I will take a first round sweep over completely missing the playoffs.

Very close! I will give it some time. You are on the right track with Blow, but more in the sense of give and receive...

I am just saying, heart and inspiration wins games. Bad ankle? Super, Yzerman needed injections in his knee to even walk on to the ice, but guess what? HE DID IT! I am not bashing Dats in the way I bash Franzen, but the player of today is in NO comparison to the player of yesterday. Todays player wouldn't even think about taking injections and playing for the good of the team. Guarantee, Yzerman would have been on that ice both yesterday and Tuesday...and he would have been a factor and he would have inspired a team that, right now, needs its leaders to inspire them! I am sure the team is not calling Dats out for not playing, but man, if they saw him get in there, like Steve used to do, they'd be like, look at Pav playing through that pain, WTF is my excuse for not pushing a bit harder? I am just saying, in probably the two most important games of the season, the team really needed more than locker room presence, they needed to be pushed to the brink of elimination. Also, don't EVER question my passion and fandom for this team, I am just not a rosey glass wearing fool who thinks everything is awesome because its the Wings...if you think this team is good and if you think the leaders are leading, then you sir, need to ask yourself if you understand how this works...

Ugh....I truly believe I am watching the worst hockey played in Detroit since 1989... Still plenty of games left to stay in the playoffs, but these two games would have solidified or at least made it VERY hard to fall out... ...I am very disappointed in the leadership on this team. You got Drew Miller who was nearly sliced in half playing with his heart on his sleeve and we cannot even get our leaders to play with a sore shoulder. Z just looks gassed, he cannot even play an entire game anymore. D is atrocious...really, Q absolutely took the wind out of the sail tonight. Sure it was a cheap call, but you knew the refs were looking to give Boston a PP and he should have known to not even give them anything to look at...then the 2nd goal, WTF was Q doing? Watching the puck and not paying attention to the player behind him. All in all, the team started out great! Huge pressure, goal post, forcing turnovers, making plays....then the 3rd came. Ugh... Petr was the first star all game long until the s***astic go ahead goal. I love ya Petr, and I am sure Jimmy would've given up more goals all game long, but that last goal was a gimme...oh well, should've never had to come down to one bad goal, team should've put Boston away earlier... Still....WTF is the use of Pulk in the middle on the PP? He is in the middle of 4 defenders, how the f*** is he going to get a shot off from there? We ALL know where he should be on the PP, but NO! They put Z there all night! If Dats isn't in against Minny, then f*** him, go on LTIR....boo hoo my shoulder hurts, mother f*****, Drew Miller almost got scalped and he played and played very well! Suck it up Pav! This team needs you to lead by example, if you don't give a s***, why should they?

Tombstones? If that is not it, I will keep thinking! If that is it, chew on this ditty: Oral Third Rock From The Sun

1 bad goal outta 3...unlike jimmy's 3 bad goals out of 3... Petr saved their ass all game long, Q took a dumb ass, albeit soft, penalty and then s*** the ice on the 2nd goal. I agree the 3rd was soft, but if not for Q, that goal wouldn't matter. are we gonna see a team that was tied for 1st overall in Feb, fall out of the playoffs? In my opinion, Dats and Cole better have lost a limb before they miss next game! This was the biggest game of the year and a ******* hangnail kept them out of the lineup!
-
wtf....what happened to the team from the first two periods?
-
was that #346?
-
Shake it off Petr, you cannot beat the B's and the refs...even Mick said he smells a PP coming, then tweet!
-
I don't care what babs thinks, put Weiss in and he gets points... It may not happen, but deserves to be in over Andersson. I understand Andersson's role, but Weiss just gets points.

I'd like to know when wearing a hat was camo for deterring cops from seeing you drive drunk?
-
not quite big and bad...168lb 18 year old rookie...but the physical play is now nice!
-
I think they are playing Pulk wrong on the PP... I don't know how he can wind up in the middle of the four defenders...
-
amber alert, we've had a kronwalling sighting!
-
different team tonight!
-
Like I said, I'd entertain moving him only if the cap dictated and there was an above average back up out there to sign. But wouldn't it be great to move Weiss/Howard/Smith to Toronto for Phaneuf? Something tells me though, TO would NOT want all that contract money back! Who is on the blueline in Buffalo?
-
They need to get Pulkkimania in the Top 6. He isn't going to get many shots on goal playing bottom minutes...Maybe Babs will be tweaking lines all night and get him up there sometime in the game.
-
Yikes, I am still baffled on that one...Have to say I never heard of that band. Even though I did think of econoline, just didn't put it with a band....try this one out: Reverberate and Peter Cottontail's Secret Service

That 4th line is like your avatar!

I may be in the minority, but I think its time for Pav and Erik to suck it up and take a couple of shots and get their ass on the ice tonight! I mean, I get it, injuries need to heal, but if they not on LTIR or even STIR and are always GTD's its time to lead this team by example! A bum knee NEVER stopped Yzerman from playing when it was crunch time, and again, I could be wrong, but this is probably THE most important game of the season, ya? It's just drives me nuts! It seems that players in todays NHL miss WAY too many games due to nagging injuries instead of just "icing" it up and going out there and leading their team, NO, WILLING their team to victory! For pete's sake, even Homer went out there and took his spot in front of the net during the PP's when he couldn't do much else, and more times than not, he scored a goal (or had one taken away) or did his job enough to allow a screened shot to go in. Buck up guys, they have treatments today that allow you to play pain free...They only need to look across the locker room at Miller for inspiration...not questioning Pav's heart, but something tells me that if he got hit like Drew, we wouldn't see him for at least a month. Same would go for a few other "stars" on our team... Anyhow, its nice to see Riley back in...Lets get this done! 2 points in regulation would be awesome!

This thread could be EPIC! LOL! I am in the court of at least entertaining the idea of trading him, ONLY if it comes down to a cap issue. If there is no need to clear cap space, at least this off season, may as well keep him...BUT if Mrazek gets near $3M, is it wise to keep over $8M in goalies? I guess it all depends on which teams he'd waive his NTC to go to AND which above average back up goalies are available come July 1st. It would be nice if he'd waive his NTC to a team that we'd could score a #1/#2 defender from...

Opinion: Petr Mrazek should be starting Game 1

Life is like a box of Chocolates? I think there should be a emoticon for sarcasm....You know I will never surrender! Not with Hudler, Not with Franzen, Not with Howard, Not with Helm or Q or K!
