I question how he plans to fill the nets of NHL goalies when he couldn't fill the nets of prospect goalies.

Holland could've gone D instead of Zadina.

I didn't mean trade one today (unless that #1 D became available) I meant if they both get 70+ points and they both want $7M+. But, maybe we could afford it, especially if we could ditch a couple of other contracts. -

I was looking at the Clayton Keller contract and his production so far on the NHL....$7.1M? We're in trouble with AA and Mantha. Even Bertuzzi equaled Keller's point total last season, scored more goals. I feel it is probably in the best interest business-wise to most definitely trade one of them. What the heck are these contracts being handed out? -

If we get Lafrieniere, we won't need JP. We won't need BOTH AA and Mantha either. If we are blessed enough to get that #1, I start looking for a trade for a legit #1 D. I still would like to see if Werenski is indeed available now, I doubt it, but nobody is untouchable really. Our (soon to be) D then: Werenski - Seider Cholowski - Hronek MacIsaac - Kaski Sorry DD....plus I'd deal away Lindstrom in the Werenski deal maybe! I know, it's all just talk here, not saying any of it is remotely about to happen, but would you? to CBJ : AA(Mantha,) Svechnikov, Lindstrom, 2020 (lottery protected) 1st Round to DET : Werenski Like I said, I figure he is not available, and I know I am on a "trade for Werenski" kick, but I am just making convo in this long off season... -

I'd give them Helm for JP. But I'm thinking if we traded Svech it would be (in a package?) for something a little more proven. If we dealt Helm, we'd be ok with the other bottom 6'ers we have. MAYBE toss in a Level B prospect (Turgeon or Ehn? Kuffner?) to get JP, but Svech I'd have to pass. Like Kip says, I'd like to see what a healthy Svech brings to the table. Although I think he'll start in GR. -

I'm more so questioning the GM. They have over $15M available, sure they'd like to sign a bridge deal, but $5M? Come on Columbus give the kid $6M-$7M for 3 years! He is a franchise D-Man! Not unless they are looking for 7-8 years and he doesn't want it. Or maybe they don't want to pay him more than Seth Jones? It's crazy any way you look at it! They have the cap, get him signed or trade his rights! What was my offer again? AA, a FWD and D prospect, 2020 1st (lottery protected to 2021) Something like that should get it done. I'd even switch AA for Mantha if I had to! -

Zach Werenski...I don't know why this deal isn't done. I trade for him now and give him $7M AAV. https://www.bardown.com/tortorella-didn-t-hold-back-while-discussing-the-possibility-of-werenski-missing-camp-at-all-1.1359793 -
Nice vid, but how can they make an all time Kronwalling video with the Voracek hit? It was better than almost every one of these.

as much as I complained about him, it's sad to see him go. But it's also a proud moment to be a Wings fan, because here is yet another player that has chosen to spend his entire career with "My Team." He didn't go chasing Cups at the end of his career, he chose to end where he started. Thank you Kronner for the great times, bad times and the times where some of us (me!) couldn't stop complaining about you! But that is how you knew that we loved you! Should we add #55 to the "next number to be retired" debate?

They had me until "...Rookie superstar Conor McDavid..." What makes everyone feel that Yzerman wants these players? He showed no interest (as far as we know) in Gusev, and JP seems like he has the same attitude. That being said, Svech and or Helm sounds good to me. Not sure I'd give up Ras for him though, if I'm trading Ras, it'll have to involve a top D. Just my 2 cents. Would any of you be interested in acquiring Josh Ho Sang? (if it got Nielen's contract out of here?) -
Lafrienere will replace Mantha. I just hate to see him or AA go, but I can see both of them asking for $6M per year. maybe parting with one isn't a horrible idea?

Fedorov left for a 5 year $40M contract. Detroit's offer was 4 years $40M. You say less money, but it's the same money, but less per year. Fedorov wanted the 5 year deal that Detroit had on the table in December of that season, but Fedorov was switching agents and (if you believe the tabloids) was going through a divorce with Anna. He wanted to wait until all that was ironed out. When he was ready Detroit dropped the offer to 4 years. He wanted a couple of other things too....He wanted the extra year, but what he signed in Anaheim was 2 years guaranteed , with 3 years as an option to the player, Detroit would not do that. Also he wanted the 2 years because the CBA was expiring the next off season and Detroit would not give him the 2 year guarantee. Everyone always says, "he left for less money" "f*** him" "he turned down more here" etc.... fact is, he left for guarantee pay and another year on the contract. It was never about the amount of money Detroit had offered. If Detroit had offered the 5 year $40m the second time along with the language he wanted in there, then he would've possibly retired a Red Wing. That is the fault of Ken Holland. Or is it? Here is a small tidbit in to why he signed the offer sheet with Carolina. Apparently Larionov and Fetisov had said some things about him over the summer when he did not go with them to Russia with the Cup. Fedorov maintains that he was not asked and did not want to go and leave Vladdy behind in the hospital. So its possible he felt that he would not be welcome here anymore if those two rejected him on the team. Could have something to do with how things were in Russia, if you weren't accepted by the leaders, you weren't accepted by the team, and Fedorov obviously still looked to those two as his leaders because of their legendary status with Red Army. Here is a clip I found: https://www.apnews.com/4f9a6b43336f6ab798ea848dddeff298 Just like today, we don't always see what goes on behind the curtain. Maybe these comments played a role in him leaving in 2003 as well?

Can't say I've ever heard of him, but surely an out of the box move! https://mihockey.com/2019/08/adam-nightingale-promoted-to-assistant-coach-with-red-wings/

so, 3 of the 4 coaches are Michigan Native. Doug Houda drafted by and played for Red Wings. The local ties run deep in this organization.
