2019 Offseason Rebuild Thread, Pt. 2 - What's the Yzerplan?
LeftWinger replied to Dabura's topic in General
yzer-plan: trade for Callahan to get more picks trade for Trouba draft Cozens or Caufield July 2020 sign Krug. -
of course that's assuming Cozens is gone. So, Byram, Cozens, Caufield.
-
by watching highlights, which is all I've got, to me it's either Byram or Caufield. I've just finished watching highlights from all the guys we've been talking about. Whether or not any of them will translate their game to the NHL is always a question mark. but by watching the highlights, honestly if not D in Byram it's Caufield. just my opinion.

Dude, you should've said Foote Fetish. That would've been funny stuff! -

imagine this place if next summer Krug and Trouba pull a Suter, Parise and both come home to play! -

for a season that will more than likely be a lottery season, if we trade Nielsen, we still have 6 natural centers on the team, and another in GR with some NHL experience. Larkin AA Helm Glendening Ehn De La Rose Turgeon The top 4 names will be good enough centers to get us through another blow off season. Don't need Nielsen, nor a UFA center. -

McIsaac is out due to shoulder surgery. I still offer up Lindstrom and a young gun for Trouba. My choice is Ras, but it may cost AA. -

That's why we draft Nolan Foote in the 2nd, then we can acquire Cal Foote in a trade and have both of them! Adam Foote would s*** himself! He'd have to become a huge Wings fan! -

Who do you like with our three 2nds? Here are a few names that would be nice: Brett Leason Samuel Poulin Nolan Foote
-
+1,000,000 if you get the reference.
-
I thought maybe he was replaced by an Ontario Provincial Police Officer with strikingly similar looks and sound. But just a slightly different hair part.
-
Haven't gotten it yet, but I did get a chance to see the Bob Probert Story....Nice! It was great! Didn't know Jacques Demers was such a jerk when it came to him!
-
Following this list, I'd draft Cozens at 6 and then figure out a way to trade in to the bottom 5 there and take Spencer Knight. But who knows, G's don't usually go in the 1st, so we may be able to get him with our 2nd.

Well, then trade Holland the #6 so he can "reach" for Broberg and get back the #9 and a young asset or 2nd round pick. -

Didn't Hall play his junior in Windsor? That means Yzerman will sign him come UFA. -

Jacob Trouba will be a Red Wing soon! -
I'd actually be pretty damn happy if they drafted Caufield. I guess the reality is that there are so many kids that will help us moving forward, can we really go wrong?
-
I still think this could be the homerun pick for someone in the top 10. https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nhl/red-wings/2019/06/02/2019-nhl-draft-why-cole-caufield-should-tempt-detroit-red-wings/1312467001/

Well this makes the choice easy. Do not draft Podkolzin. I'm drafting a player that if he has a great camp and makes the team, he's staying. Sounds like this guy isn't even planning on attending any prospects or training camps.
-
IMO, if Byram or Cozens aren't there at 6, that's when I make a trade. Not unless we feel that Caufield is going to continue his scoring prowess. I, of all people, realize that just because you light up jr's, doesn't mean you'll slight up the NHL....re: Tippett.

You trade for him now, so you can take advantage of one more year of him be younger. Whether he's coming here one way or the other, why wait until he's a year older? Trade for him, sign him for 8 years starting now or wait and sign him for 7 years when he's a year older. I make the trade and have a younger Trouba. -

Yes I would. Datsyuk may not be out of the league much longer. -

No. CRL, No.9, that is the reference. But even though it is in black and white that Yzerman has called about Trouba and Winnipeg is interested in picks, he still says it'll take the sky to get him. It won't. He will be very surprised at what little is costs to get him. Remeber when Ottawa was going to get a King's ransom for Karlsson? Well, we see how that turned out. Winnipeg better accept what they can now, because one more year, Trouba will be in the EXACT same spot as Karlsson, except less points, Norris Trophies and All World Accolades. But ya, it'll cost all our core plus 16 1st round picks.
