His first concert ever in England or Europe for that matter (due to a lawsuit with his ex-manager). And we still remember... I've been listening to this album a lot lately. These kids must've played a lot of Springsteen records when they were young... Yup. Same here in The Netherlands. Watching the Wings in the middle of the night. But still worth it though.

I have been a live-long supporter of SC Heerenveen from the Netherlands. Not the biggest club in the country (we're about the fourth or fifth club, behind Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven and Feijenoord), but always sold out with 26.000 fans and always playing in the UEFA Cup.

Oh no... the Return of the Gilchrist. My vote goes to Lidstrom.

Damn... I don't understand why Detroit hasn't already made this trade....

Being from The Netherlands I'm really looking forward to this game... Only problem is that both sides won't use the players who picked up a yellow card during the previous games (to avoid that they will be suspended in the knock-out stage). In the case of the Dutch team that means that Mathijsen, Robben, Van Bommel, Gio and Heitinga won't play. Although I'm hoping for a good result, I expect the Argentinian bench(players) to be stronger than the Dutch... But we'll see...

The Dutch team actually isn't 'that' young, but you're right that some of the defenders don't have much international experience (compared to the defenders who used to play in our international squad like F. De Boer and Stam). But most of them have played during qualifications and actually did very well. We'll just watch and learn how they will perform in the World Cup. According to the latest news the injuries sustained in the game against the Aussies don't seem to be too serious (Van Basten didn't find it necesarry to call up other players). Probable starting 11 (not counting potential injuries): Van der Sar, Kromkamp, Mathijsen, Ooijer, Gio, Van Bommel, Cocu, Van der Vaart (or Sneijder), Robben, Van Nistelrooij, Van Persie

Those Fifa World Rankings are notoriously flawed... My native country The Netherlands actually ranks third on that list, which seems pretty accurate since we didn't lose a game during qualifications. For that matter I believe that our team only lost once in almost two years (to Italy) now (if i remember correctly...). Although we're in a tough group (with Argentina, Ivory Coast and Serbia-Montenegro) I see us advancing to the quarter and maybe even the semi finals. I don't see The Netherlands winning though... (My money's still on Argentina or Brazil).
