Nope. I've always been more concerned about HOW we play, than WHO we play. Of course there is an advantage to playing Columbus over Anaheim, travel, playoff experience, physicality, etc. But I'm not the kind of person to actively hope for one opponent or another.

I've long ago learned the lesson of picking your playoff poison. I don't actively hope for one matchup over another in the playoffs.

Conks will be UFA after this season, and is not expected to re-sign in Detroit, since we're out of minor league options for our most senior prospect Jimmy Howard.

Conklin would be a good fit for SJ. They play a very similar style to Detroit, and he's good enough to provide both pressure for the starting job on your starter, and provide quality backup goaltending when you rest your #1. Not being too familiar with their salary situation, how far against the cap is SJ projected to be?

Versus has been doing that for all the games I've seen so far this playoffs. And now Anaheim sounds the real horn. Tied at 2. This is gonna be one of THOSE games, I just get that feeling.

Wow. Nabokov had no idea where the puck was until it was on it's way into his own net. SJ right back to the powerplay. The refs are sure whistling their way to their paycheck tonight.

Although they got us on our heels as the period wore on, the end result of the first period was perfect. I would not have expected us to be up 2-0 in the first period of this game. Trust me, that's FAR from a complaint!!
