I know it's said in a draft to pick the best player available, but we're at a point now where we need to draft certain types of players. We have a lot of young forwards, so we need defencemen with size, and get a starting goalie soon. If Seider is the guy we wanted, I don't have a problem with it.

The Leafs defense positioning is horrible. I know Babcock doesn't have much to work with, but you'd think a Stanley Cup and Gold Medal winning coach could come up with a better defensive system. Hockey is fast, but it's a positional game. How hard is it to tell someone to stay in a certain area of the ice? I've not been impressed with his coaching the last two years.

I was at a meet and greet media event in Toronto last night. TSN radio personalities were there talking Leafs and Raptors playoffs. One of the guys there from TSN, was Jamie McLennan. Since I'm a smart aleck, and old enough to not be star struck, I told McLennan I'm a Red Wings fan, and said I remember when he two hand slashed Franzen in the 2007 Playoffs. Jamie laughed and said, "Franzen went down easy, and he resurrected the next day to score the series winning goal in over time". We made more small talk about that series, and I got a picture with him.
Jamie's wife, Steff, is one of the producers of the radio show he's on. She was there too and I told her the same thing, I'm a Wings fan and remember when Jamie slashed Franzen. Steff laughed and said, "Yeah Jamie will never live that down".
Walking out at the end of the night, I saw Steff again. I told her I got a picture with Jamie, enjoyed meeting him, so all is forgiven. Again she laughed. She added, their sources are saying Yzerman becoming the next GM of the Red Wings, is pretty much a done deal.

Oh, I'll add Jeff O'Neill was there too, but he was kind of a jerk. I said to him, how great a team the 2001-02 Hurricanes were, and how nervous I was playing them in the Final. He just kind of looked at me, and brushed me off.

I wonder if the Leafs have blown it? Now they have to win at least one more game in Boston to take the series. You gotta win Game 4 and take a 3-1 series lead. Bruins have the home ice back.

I need to grow up, I laugh everytime I see the Blue Jackets referred to as the "BJ's". It's like when I hear the word "duty".

I have witnesses, when the Leafs signed Tavares I said, "Why did they do that? They've upped the value of all their young stars. Matthews and Marner are going to want what Tavares makes, and Nylander can ask for a little less"
They're stuck with Nylander now. Marner is worth draft picks, another team will sign him.
I was reading Kadri has an in-person hearing with the league, which means he can be suspended for 5 games. Sounds to me like he's done for the series.
The Leafs better calm down, and get back to the way they played in Game 1. Playing physical with the Bruins will get them no where. The Bruins star players can hit, the Leafs star players can't. Game 2 is how the Bruins want the series to be played.
