I refuse to believe I live in a world where a period of playoff hockey like that is possible. It's just gotten to such a sorry, dysfunctional state that all you can do is shake your head in amazement. How the f*** are we only down two goals? That was honestly one of the worst 20 minutes of any sport I've ever seen.

I am so outraged at all of this. But, man, what a great penalty kill. Let's hope this gives us some big momentum. WHAT!?!?!?!!?!?

By the way, that indistinguishable chant is "Detroit Sucks."

Can somebody explain to me why that goal wasn't reviewed? It sure looked like the net was off.

You just felt that coming. The 3rd period intensity from Game 1 just hasn't been there.

This one has kind of grinded to a halt. Next goal is going to be huge.

Very similar to Game 1's first period. Getting the tying goal is huge. I'm wondering what the Wings have to do in order to stop giving up power play goals. Their PK has been sensational, but then the opposing teams get cheap little goals at the side of the net or, like tonight, off a defenseman's skate. You can't really do anything about it, but it's still tough. Pavel looks good tonight. Hossa looks...eh. Ozzie has been great again. I love that man.

You know there are intermissions for these sorts of things, right?

How many times can other teams score power play goals on us like that?

This couldn't feel any less like a conference final game. I don't have any stress, any anxiety or any real sense of hesitation. I'm just ready to sit back and watch some hockey. That feeling is probably going to evaporate quickly, but this all just feels so easy and I'm not quite sure why. I don't think it has anything to do with Chicago, because they still scare me. There is a calm surrounding this team right now, though. That being said, Pav and Hossa and need to get their heads out of their asses. Great. Go Wings.

I'm not sure anybody is going to accuse Hossa of phoning it in. He can certainly be accused of playing far below his ability level. He wanted to come to Detroit to play in games like these, so let's what you're capable of. He's been hesitant and inconsistent, though. We all know he can be way better than this. I'm not sure if it's nerves or what, but it would be awfully nice if it's corrected.

Well, that's what I'm saying. He gets asked about all the time about the perception that he's no good. But, it's always about the "perception." Anybody who knows anything is able to realize that Oz is the man.

I love that the argument is always, "Well, you know, there are SO MANY people who think you suck." It's never, "I think you suck, what's the deal?" I think perception is much more than reality, in this case. There aren't that many people doubting Ozzie, just a lot of people who think a lot of people are.

I have to be honest, I was quite worried heading into this. I feel so much better right now. I'd feel better if Pav or Hossa showed something today, but again, it only means we can be better. We're still winning without them producing, and it's scary to think what might happen if they get going. I think we all keep saying to ourselves, "Man, we aren't going to win without Datsyuk or Hossa scoring." Up until this point, I've believed whole-heartedly in that statement. Now, to be perfectly straight, I'm not so sure. I think we can win the Stanley Cup without either of them turning it on. Why? Guys like Dan Cleary. Guys like Johan Franzen. Ozzie, too. We're so deep and so talented, that we might be able to win without our Hart Trophy finalist doing anything. This was just a random rant from me, but it's something I'm beginning to fathom. If Kane and Toews decide not to show up, however, Chicago isn't coming close to making this series competitive. Their goaltending was superb, too, and I have a hard time believing he can be that solid the rest of the way. The 'Hawks weren't bad by a LONG stretch, but they also are going to have to realize that an effort like today's isn't going to be enough, especially because the Wings are bound to be better in Game 2.

Really, really pleased with the Wings' effort today. I knew it was't going to be perfect considering the quick turnaround, and it wasn't, but it was just about as good as it could have been. We looked really solid. Patrick Kane not having a shot is huge. I really liked our team defense, including Ozzie, who made some big stops. So, yeah, pretty nice stuff. We'll only get better form here on out.

God, I love my life. Dan Cleary is THE MAN.

Look, here's the thing. I normally hate Sammy. Hate him. I think he's one of the most frustrating players in the league. He has been OUTSTANDING in the playoffs. I really love him right now. The Samuelsson/Hudler/Filppula line has been really great tonight.
