Bootland hasn't played badly in the past couple games, TooToo was real tough last night throwing punches with his visor on...very tough indeed. I was a little disappointed that Schneider's penalty led to a Nashville goal, but thinking about it... Tootoo can eat s*** and die, it was worth it.
-
How can anyone take you seriously? Schneider is dragging Kronwall down? I think Scheider's defensive lapses are REALLY getting blown out of proportion at this point in all of these threads, but to place the blame for Kronwall's suck ass play as of late on Schneider is just ridiculous.
-
I pretty much agree completely....people keep talking about Kronwall replacing Schneider, I don't see it at happening at all at this point. Have you guys missed the last 15-20 games? I don't think Kronwall could possibly play any worse. The bottom line is, aside from Lidstrom, we don't have a single defenseman other than Schneider who can play the blue line effectively in the offensive zone. Not one.
-
Where's your clever name for Kronwall? how about "I'm a tough guy with my cage, but I've still managed to be the worst defenseman on this team for the past 3 consecutive months" Or you could just call him "-3", since he's also our only defenseman with that honor as well.
-
Agree. Agree again. Samuelsson is hard to like sometimes, because he's constantly slopping shots off the backboards and generally plays like a puss. At the same time, GWG the other night, and not his first either. It's a toss up.
-
Not really looking forward to seeing Schneider go, hoping they resign him. If Kronwall keeps playing as badly as he has been lately, I don't know what his future will be... Also, I thought word from Holland awhile ago was that Chelios would continue to be resigned as long as he wants to play...
-
Again with the "trade schneider" talk...please. None of our supposed "good, young defense prospects" who are all supposedly better than Schneider have proven anything, in particular Kronwall, who has been incredibly inconsistent the past few months. ...but you're right...let's dump our second best defenseman, 48 points and +/- 11 is pretty weak, besides we've got Lilja and Kronwall on the job. ^^ Honestly, I'm open to realistic ideas, but saying we'll just bring up some guys from Grand Rapids to replace him is not giving him enough credit.

Screenshot or it didn't happen Honestly, I don't even remember the slash in question...
-
Seriously, it really seemed like he took himself out of the game with that move...I hardly noticed him at all after that
-
One of the usual Nashville commentators isn't bad, but the other guy with him, "Bubba" or something...is a complete f***in hick who generally seems to have no idea who the players are outside of the Predators and is easily confused by the course of the game.
-
I guess I'm one of the few who isn't particularly excited that Samuellson is coming back...I'm not saying he's bad, I just get tired of watching him slop shots off the backboards rather than on net. I was actually kinda hoping he would be traded before his injury. Regardless, hope he plays well..

I'm curious too, I've read a little about how it works...but are you guys actually using this system? how big is your dish?
-
Hudler definitely has the moves to get it done in the shootout.
-
Babcock will have some tough line choices when everyone is healthy, 'cause right now I'm really liking the Franzen-Lang-Calder line.

I'm not backing off my comments by any means, but I am attempting to let the discussion die because I don't see any point in coming back to this when we're obviously not going to agree. As I said before, I wasn't the original poster to comment on the high amount of his lawsuit, and if you do a little research you'll see that this same argument regarding the figures is raging on forums elsewhere. I honestly don't care how callous it sounds to you, I will stand by my statement that Moore was and would have continued to be a "4th line scrub" for the remainder of his career had the incident never occurred. He played in a total of 69 games in 4 seasons, and I doubt he was making more than the league minimum salary (~$450k). You also continue to imply that Moore is on the hook for all of these medical and rehab. bills, which seems incredibly unlikely to me. As another poster chimed in, he was still a member of the Avalanche at the time... Your implication that I should quietly slink away because I regret my previous comments is incredibly condescending...because you claim to be a RL Litigator, on the internet, obviously you know for a fact that Moore has "millions in medical bills" just waiting to be paid, which is laughable. He was released from the hospital 2 weeks after the day he was injured, let's not get it twisted here...he had 3 fractured vertebrae, his spine wasn't ripped out of his back and snapped in half. You are right in one respect though, I do regret getting involved in the discussion at all at this point, because the bottom line is, Bertuzzi is on our team now, and that's not going to change. People opposed to it are just going to have to accept it.
-
Those lines look pretty good, seems like the Calder/Lang/Franzen line is really working well together so far.
-
I always love it when forum posters use the internet to flex their clearly massive intellects, bravo. Do you honestly believe that the Avalanche wheeled Moore out of the hospital, and said "Enjoy your bills, cya", and that they provided no assistance whatsoever? Highly unlikely that he was left to foot the bill for his rehabilitation, and that he simply needs that $20 million to get by. I didn't imply that he was just in it to get rich, nor was I actually the first poster to mention that it's doubtful Moore would have made anywhere near that amount of money in his "illustrious" career. Regardless, the money factor in this issue is just one of many, and happens to be the one brought up quite frequently from people who seem to think Bertuzzi should basically sacrifice his own life and income because of the unpredictable events that occurred that day. Was Bertuzzi wrong? yes. Did Bertuzzi know Moore was going to break his neck? doubtful. This isn't the first cheapshot in the history of hockey, and far from the last since then...
-
I don't see why? that's what it all comes down to isn't it? Money... Moore himself stated that the only reason he initiated the original lawsuit so early was because of the limited timeframe available to do so.
-
People need to get over it, these threads just keep coming. Moore is already suing for $20 million...which is more than a 4th line scrub like him probably would have made in his entire NHL career to begin with. What's done is done. Aside from that, I haven't actually heard any report stating that Moore could never play hockey again...from what I've read, he was working out and prepared to start skating again as early as December 2004.
-
This is my only concern as well, we didn't sign him to be a fighter, but if the need presents itself, it'd be nice to see Bert still throw-down if he has to.
-
Don't know where all these people came from thinking we don't need Schneider, and we should just dump him. He's easily our 2nd best defenseman behind Lidstrom, and I don't see Kronwall or any of our other younger defensemen taking that spot away from him anytime soon.
-
If we could do it, I'd still take him back.
-
Disappointment starting to settle in here...sounds more and more like Bertuzzi going to the Ducks, at this point realistically if the Wings go up against the Sharks in the first round we're going to be physically destroyed.
-
Scratch one more off our list
-
I'm not against getting Bertuzzi if the price is cheap, but that's also a big risk if it's the only move Holland makes today...if Bertuzzi doesn't come back in form, then we ended up accomplishing nothing towards the overall goal. Not trying to start an argument either, just saying ideally it'd be Bertuzzi/Laraque, or Bertuzzi/Mayers, just in case Bertuzzi doesn't pan out.
