Maybe he'll get a chance to play in LA. I don't think it's a huge loss with all the young defensemen on the depth chart but it's a slight knock against Holland for letting him go for nothing in return.

The way I look at it, Latendresse would be in the AHL same as Kindl and Abdelkader if the Wings had drafted him--and rightfully so, considering his awful plus/minus. Long term, the Habs might have been better off letting him develop.

Locking up Fil for 5 years ought to be worth the sticker shock of taking a $3million cap hit. If he can score 20-25 consistently and keep up his defense, it'll be a bargain. Cap space looks tight though--let's hope that the big money guys deliver.

After the money thrown at defensemen this summer a 900k cap hit for Ericsson could be a steal.

I thought the Wings stepped up their physical game--such as it is--Homer, Drake, Mac, Draper and Kronwall were all winning battles and checking hard. Good enough to get the job done and wear down young Preds defensemen and give Pavel, Hank and Hudler room to operate. Hey, it was better watching than the turnoverfests that were COL/MIN and SJ/CGY.

I like MacLeod's summation at RWC best. He's dead-on; the treatment of a star player really should be exactly the same as a grinder if they're guilty of the same thing. Does it seem to anyone else that Pronger's character has changed for the worse since his days as a Blue? Back in his St. Louis days I had some respect for him, but he acted much more under control than he does now. It always seems to be something with Pronger these days--screaming at the refs, throwing elbows, complaining about the Canadian media, and now kicking at a prone player. Classless.

Watching NMU handle OSU was a lot of fun--although hey, whenever any Ohio state team loses it's great fun. Can't say that I like the Wildcats' chances against MSU, though.
