Sounds about right.

Your have all the offense in the top pair. Plus, I am not sure the Wings are done signing defensemen, yet.

That is one of the reasons Tallon is the Florida GM now, instead of still being in Chicago.

Phoenix just qualified him, so he is still a restricted free agent. He will probably be a top priority, so I don't think he will get away from Phoenix.

Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo

Actually, they do. Can be fined, lose draft picks, or lose contracts, if they don't. -
Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI for 4th round pick.

He's losing too much money with RIM. Probably can't afford a team anymore.
-
Possibility. Another team in the East could hurt Detroit's chances to move East.

I saw a note that the start time may be set for 8 PM.

TSN's Bob McKenzie has tweeted that Nashville and New Jersey have filed for arbitration on Weber and Parise, respectively. He also states that this prohibits other teams from putting in offer sheets. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=369291

Detroit was 2nd in goals per game and 23rd in goals against per game, this season. Yes, the team defense is what needs to improve. By the way. Those numbers change to 4th and 5th; respectively, in the playoffs.

Winnipeg has opened up a coaching search of their own. If for some reason MacLean doesn't get the Ottawa job. He would have a good chance at getting the job in Winnipeg, since he played there. Could have an offseason where both coaches and two top defensemen are gone. Yikes! Now, Bob McKenzie tweeting that Pete Deboer, former Florida head coach, has been talked about for a Wings assistant position.

Looks like the one I have on a signed puck.

ChrisBottaNHL Chris Botta told Brad Richards' first choice is not to sign where hockey's life and there are a lot of reporters. He may not have that choice. 2 hours ago https://twitter.com/#!/ChrisBottaNHL

If Phoenix gets moved some where east, it all is moot. That is one reason why they are waiting the year.

Forbes article on Salary Cap, NHLPA and the next CBA
CenterIce replied to gcom007's topic in General
Some of the owners don't like the cap floor continuously going up. They want to spend as little as possible, and they keep having to spend to get above it. Player wise hiring Fehr is definitely a sign that they want to take the hard line. Hopefully, one or both sides don't decide to dig in. The league is doing well as a whole. Hopefully, the knowledge of the lost season, plus what the NFL/NBA are/will be going through will keep things in perspective. -
It was game 5 of their series in 2002. I was there, but I don't know of any video.

The Wings also have Jim Nill. He could be picked up by another team, but the organization seems to like him because they have declined offers to talk to him while still under contract. I don't see a guarantee that Yzerman will pop back to Detroit, once his current contract is up. I like what Yzerman has done in Tampa, but it has been less than one year, where Holland has been running Detroit for 14.

Which conference would you rather have the Wings in?
CenterIce replied to weGotTheCup89's topic in General
There is talk Nashville could be the team moving to the Eastern Conference, since they would fit better in the Southeast Division geographically. -
You have it right here. As with a lot of things in the NHL, it is all about what the TV networks want. NBC doesn't want Canadian teams, because they feel they won't draw well in the US. So, the Canadian teams get the Heritage Classic. CBC doesn't think US teams will draw in Canada, so it will be all Canadian teams. Looking at the calendar, January 1st is a Sunday. The leagues probably would not want to have a noon game on a Sunday. Also, could be related to college bowl schedules, as well. They might feel they would have more of a exclusive audience with a Monday game. Might also mean with the experience they had this year, they might try a night game.

No, I think that might have been 20. I believe that was the number he had worn on some of the Swedish national teams. I don't remember if he ever wore 20 in a game. Might have just been preseason.
