If its better to trade then to try and sign and keep certain players more beneficial to the team (even Short Term) I would think he would be on alot of teams Radar IF (HUGE IF) the wings have any needs come deadline time (Heaven Forbid)

Well thanks for the Update I did not hear 1-2 weeks All i heard was "Long Term" and that phrase is never good to hear and hard to interpret as far as the call up goes? who can we call up that replaces what Stuart has to offer here! I dont think we have anyone or we would not have dropped 3.75 on him for a extention. we would of called someone up at a cheaper price was my point. we need defense to win a cup again it has been our down fall all year. thats all I was trying to say

Well "I" for one think that either Hudler or Fil might get dealt with the "Long Term" (as said by Babcock) injury to Stuart. I know we have Meech and could also call up someone. But Meech does not have have the size and grit that Stuart brings to this team. I can see the Wings dealing Huds for a RENTAL D-MAN if Stuart isnt gonna play much the rest of the season. Cartilage problems in his ribs? sounds pretty long term to me But i am not a doctor....

I Like it , but Sakic may retire and with that much cap room You can easily go out and get youth, Id try and Keep Svatos and bring in Hartigan and Peca, since Naslund is a Ranger now itll be hard to replace Sakic if he retires....Fedorov would be a decent choice, Also Add Codey Burki to the roster from the farm team 70 games 85 pts. then use the remaining cap space for deadline deals if any araise

with the STUART signing I saw the possibility of Quincey leaving via trade since he has to clear waivers before going down to the minors again and Chelios wanting to play again and Lilja re-signing...... It sucks but i do see him going, Filp does need to be signed for sure I agree..... But as far as injuries go Id say we have the Bases covered Helm will not be a starter in Detroit, He will be a top liner and call up option for injury and either Downey or Mac need to be signed for grit... so I guess we are really good right now and it makes us the Best in the NHL with out question ( Not that there was one )

The thing i dont like is We almost lose either one (Quincy - or - Lilja) depending if Stuart re - ups with us If he does we lose either one i think Im not sure the wings want to Let Quincey get away cause he cant be sent down to GR without clearing Waivers.. Do You think he has a snowballs chance or clearing I dont either and Lilja can go IMO he will want more than the wings will offer and its just not worth it to me

i really did not expect Pittsburgh to get ugly like that at all .. I would expect that out of Colorado and anahiem But not pittsburgh, I just did not see that coming.... i sawq the frustration all night But it just kinda shocked me a bit to see the UGLY end to that game
