They gave him $4.25 million over 5 years, so naturally they're expecting big things from him. MacTavish said it best though, that they thought the contract would be a beginning for him, while he saw it as a finishing point.

After hearing that, it sounded a bit like the players didn't like to be held accountable and wanted to play under a soft guy who didn't demand the best from them. If that's the case, I'd have to side with Barry at least in that sense.
