Capfriendly: Karlsson trade: ***Conditions: 2019 2nd round pick is the higher of the two picks the Sharks currently own: Panthers and their own.Result: Ottawa will receive Panthers 2019 2nd round pick. Nyquist trade: *2019 2nd round pick (SJS) NHL.com seems to have reported it incorrectly. -

This is not true. We will get whichever pick is lower. San Jose has 2 -- 2nd round picks. We get the lower pick. -

"Detroit will receive the lower of San Jose's or the Florida Panthers' 2019 second-round selections, along with the Sharks' third-round pick in 2020." -
Of course, there's also been talk that Kronner will get re-signed for an additional year here in Detroit. Looks like a done deal.

You can't trade Nyquist for a first to a team that doesn't have their first. The Sharks do not have first rounder that isn't already wrapped up in conditions for the next few years. Doubt you can trade a pick that you may not have. If there's no real talk about Nyquist being traded and we can get a second rounder plus conditional pick for a guy who had to waive his no trade -- I think Holland did just fine. Maybe the Sharks were the only team biting. -
The other thing to keep in mind, I don't think most players are willing to give up and walk away from $12 million dollars in actual salary. There's definitely something else to this story.

I think CapFriendly is just doing what they can to explain the situation. There's gotta be more going on below the surface. If Buffalo and their fans think that that money and cap hit are magically going to disappear. I think they're sadly mistaken. If it does just magically go away, I think there are plenty of teams that should file grievances. As far as this specific situation, Buffalo hasn't liked Berglund's play or his production, so he's been used sparingly and healthy scratched. Berglund doesn't like that so he's not showing up to work. To me it seems like this move was made to get things started before the Holiday Roster freeze and to make a point to Berglund -- that he can't just not show up. Obviously Berglund doesn't like his situation... and maybe he's tried to make his case and he felt that his issues weren't being heard or taken seriously. There's more to come on this story for sure.

I'm not into a nostalgia tour for Datsyuk.
-
My first thought was, "Please no."
-
You think he might have a boss that would light a fire? Oh wait. That guy's too busy polishing his big brass balls, toasting his past president cup winning seasons and having the help clean his Stanley Cup rings.
-
Exactly. Less talking and more lighting fires under asses.

i have a boner.

I love the adventure that is Sulak on the ice, but I do believe he needs more time in the AHL. Also, Witkowski does bring SOMETHING... the desire to throw fists.

Steve Yzerman to step down as GM for TBL. Will serve in "Advisory Role".

I'm not saying the man hasn't made mistakes. I don't think he'd even try to pass off the idea that he hasn't miffed on a couple of swings. ...but Holland knows, if he's getting replaced by a shiny new toy, it'll happen. He's in rebuild mode. If the Ilitches grow weary of this process and, like CLR said, his shrewd moves. He'll be gone. ....but he won't be without a job for long if he wants one. As far as the Vasilievskiy pick specifically... coulda, woulda, shoulda. Also, we already had our future goaltender in Mrazek at that point, right? -
In the AHL? Also, I'm waiting for all the PainTrain slappies to come for me. (If there are any left on this board.)
