Babs could have been nominated, but so could a few others have been.
They had to choose three coaches, I think these guy are good picks.

The most famous example of that T.Low would be Salo in the 2002 Olympics, when he ducked his head while jumping for the puck and it went past his ducking head and in.
Weird explanation and the only vids I could find on youtube were in Russian I think ( in the 12 seconds I took), so I didn't post one but most of us remember that moment. Just before OT were to start I think.
Same thing though with Salo I guess he could have lost sight of it, but that looked like a "Oh s*** it is going Brain me, DUCK!!!" type of move. As opposed to the Yzerman goal against St. Louis, when whomever it was (I can't believe I would have to look this up! D'Oh) just misplayed it, the body language on that one was more of a I got this one, ooops no I don't.
Where as to me Salo was getting out of the way!
I think the difference with Jimmy is that Salo had to much time to think and therefore ducked.
Jimmy's puck to the head was just too quick and screened, so he didn't have a choice really.

All three are very deserving of this award.
But just to recognize the less of a household names in the league, it would be nice for a guy like Bryzgalov to get the Vezina.

Babcock dug his grave some time ago.
This is not about Howard or Osgood. It's not about which goaltender we like or who we prefer in goal.
This is about a coach who rendered his backup goaltender virtually useless by keeping him on the bench for an unreasonable amount of games.
And that's just poor coaching in my opinion.

True, I am big supporter of Chris Osgood.
But I have the Red Winged Wheel tattooed on my left arm, not 'Ozzie' or '30'.

Rask has a better save percentage, a better GAA and more shutouts than Howie.
If Rask plays the majority of Boston's games (instead of TT) and keeps up the same numbers, I think he will (and should) get the Calder

I didn't bother reading through this thread but I agree with the OP, it is ridiculous. He hasn't even been that bad this season. Sure he's struggled, but so did the rest of our team. I'm sure there is more to it then we know, but regardless...I think Babcock is putting too much faith in Howard. I think Howard is gonna have a great career, but Osgood is a proven playoff performer and Babcock basically gave him the year off. Osgood is a MAJOR reason we made the SCF the last 2 seasons, people seem to have such short memories in regards to Osgood. That's my opinion and I'm not even a big Osgood fan.

This is flatout humiliating for a goaltender of Ozzie's caliber. What is he thinking ?
Babcock is showing once more that he's mediocre at best when it comes to the 'human' side of coaching.
Why would consciously render you second goaltender useless by sitting him this ******* long ?????
This will backfire someday..
Besides that, I think.. KNOW that Chris Osgood has some wins in him.
Don't treat him like there's sitting some snot nosed college goaltender on the bench.
