There was absolutely no way Cleary was more deserving of a roster spot than anyone else. His resigning was pathetic, and anyone who points out his "playoff warrior" status should take a deeper look at how he accumulated those points.

There is no double standard. Cleary, Samuelsson, and Bertuzzi, have been s***ty for more than just a season, none of them should have been signed, or should have retired. Weiss has played 26 games with the Wings and some speculating he started the season with the injury. We haven't even seen enough of Weiss to even develop an idea of his game like/hate. With in the last 4-5 years, Weiss was at one point a go to guy for his team, where Cleary, Samuelsson, and Bertuzzi again should have been off the time for the last few years. He also is at least 5? years younger than all 3 of the other players and is in his prime years..... I'm pretty indifferent if he comes back or not considering the kids are great, How can't you see the difference in circumstances?

you have to understand Cleary has been taking up space for 3 years now. If Tootoo had been here 3 years and useless than of course he'd have an NTC. It's all about quantity not quality. going to have to call buls*** on that stat, how is falling down and handing the puck over not considered giving the puck away?

It's basically a modern day Stevie Y vs Feds. Datsyuk has more ability than Z in my opinion. But Z just has an insane amount of will power and another gear.

I can't remember exactly who it was but on NHL radio earlier yesterday two former players were talking about games before chrismtas. One stated "he really couldn't get into the game because his mind was so jacked to see family, some cases being the only time in a year. So, and it's probably not what fans want to here before some games, but I believe most players are that way." The show was on about 930-1000 but I didn't catch who was talking.

I'm glad Tootoo is back but why is Sammy the 1st we want gone? I think Dan the Man is a much worse player than Sammy, and he should be the 1st to go. After you can choose Sammy/Miller I really don't care.

That is buls***! Weiss some complained, but I will grant you nobody thought the signing was this bad. Sammy, Q, and especially Cleary. Everyone know they sucked and were terrible choices from the very beginning. The worst of all being Cleary. Get rid of those 3, make Bert the player coming off the bench. Those actions alone will be massive additions by subtractions.

Another tough loss, at some point things will turn around though. I wonder who they could possibly bring up now? Last note they should wave Cleary on HBO/247 it would make compelling television, Holland, Babcock, Cleary all crying together etc....

Overall I agree, though I don't think we could miss the playoffs in the East unless we tried. But think about how the players in GR are dominating, despite having top players being taken to play for the wings. We can go down the list of players on this team who Holland would can create addition by subtraction by trading, waiving, and not signing in the 1st place. Not to mention, as a fan this game isn't 100% about winning, you do have to have some components of entertainment. There isn't passion, I'm not saying having fights every 10 seconds, or run other peoples stars. But as a fan if it pisses you off to watch Datsyuk get nailed, how as a friend of his does it not create some sort of actual reaction? The team has a ton of talent and really could probably just cut some losses, and bring up players up from GR. Oh and lastly I really hope 24/7 explains why Babcock plays the lines he does..

Wow what a stupid response.

This season is very depressing. It's not so much that I believe this team is bad or won't make the playoffs, but I simply just do not like the make up of this team, I dislike some of the players, the attitude, the current lines, and the GM's moves. I hope they start to pull there heads out there asses and actually ice the best team we can.
