signed Wings sign Alfredsson to 1-year, $3.5m deal (+$2m bonuses)
henrik40 replied to ogreslayer's topic in General
New system and style of play? The stache has been in Ottawa for two years now. I don't watch much of their games, but I bet he's incorporated a significant amount of Babcock's system into that team. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. -
Dreger: Filppula looking for $5.5m/season over at least 7 years

?For a guy who has only registered more than 45 points or so, what, once? No thanks. I can't believe he's looking for anything over $4 mil. -
Ah, yes, that old argument. That point sure appealed to Parise and Suter.

Seriously, why not look at dealing Dats for a young, franchise d-man? His contract is up at the end of next season and I honestly think he'll go back to Russia at that point. It was clearly tough for him to leave when the lockout ended. Almost every team would be willing to deal for a season and a half of Datsyuk.

We all knew this was coming. I love you, Nick.

2012 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 27th, 3:00 PM ET

Watching Eklund's twitter is awesome. He reports everything after everyone else has reported it. -
Interesting series of tweets from Bob McCown: FadooBobcat Bob McCown Sydney Crosby has injury to C1 and C2 vertebrae FadooBobcat Bob McCown Injury diagnosed during recent trip to Utah, but apparently missed by Pittsburgh doctors who were treating him. FadooBobcat Bob McCown Drs expect Crosby to heal and be ready for playoffs. Unclear if he even suffered 2nd concussion. Sid said to be very unhappy with Pit docs. I see this as great news for the league, but awful news for the Pens doctors. Edit: I'm assuming the vertebrae injury happened with the original concussion and had it been found/addressed, he wouldn't have had any issues after he came back in December.

Islanders Hosting Party to Celebrate Fight Night

Honestly, I think this is pretty lame. That's really all I can say about it. Kind of baffles me that this was even an idea, let alone someone approving it. -
I have never been more frustrated after watching a victory. We had the Coyotes down and out and had our foot on their throats. Completely outplaying them but I swear, these chincy calls to allow teams back into games might have given them something to build off of and might allow them back in the series. The boarding call on Helm was one of the worst I've ever seen. He laid his shoulder right into Jovo's shoulder and Jovo might as well have grabbed Helm around the neck the way he grabbed his chin. Unbelievable. 7 straight playoff games facing a 5 on 3 (I could be wrong). It's so aggravating.

I mean if I was a Nucks fan, I'd be cocky too. The Hawks have been playing playoff hockey for 6-8 weeks now. They should wear down quickly, I would think (SHOULD being the key word). I think that was part of our problem last season. The Hawks CORE@#@!#!!! has been playing a ton of minutes for a while now, and some having played a ton all season. If the Canucks get past the mental road block, I would pick them to take it in 5.

I've bought a couple. Both are really nice. I'm sure there's a couple flaws but I've never noticed anything. They've definitely been worth the money. I use dhgate. I always make sure I'm buying from someone with a ton of positive feedback, much like ebay.

And really, can you ever prove someone's intentions? What looks as an intentional hit to me looks unintentional to someone else. You'll never know unless Chara says "yes I wanted to drill him into the stantion".

232 minors??? I've seen maybe 4 legitimate penalties on us all season! Bettman hates us.

Seabrook extended for 5 years at $5.8 million per year
henrik40 replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
I mean someone correct me if I'm wrong, but they are paying 8 guys approximately 44 million next season (Kane, Toews, Hossa, Sharp, Keith, Seabrook, Campbell, and Hjalmarsson). What's the rough estimate for the cap next season, $60 mil or so? -
Not a big Jeanneret fan but honestly, I'm not a big Ken Daniels fan. If I could get my radio feed and tv to sync up, I would watch the game on mute and listen to Ken Cal and Paul Woods 100 times out of 100.

2011 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 28th, 3:00 PM ET

I need to stop looking at Eklund's site. Reading that trash is the equivalent of ESPN's bracketology. Make a s*** ton of bogus predictions then when he does get a few right, he's a genius. Right now he's talking about Bogosian to the Isles for a top line forward and prospect. -
Kook, it has nothing to do with whether or not green left himself vulnerable. If Stepan goes shoulder to shoulder, it's a great hit and he gets clean retribution. The fact of the matter is Stepan targeted the head. It has absolutely nothing to do with Green not keeping his head up.

Mckenzie: Brent Seabrook about to sign big deal with Chicago
henrik40 replied to DatsyukianDekes's topic in General
So if this contract figure is correct and I'm not mistaken, they have roughly $44 mil locked up by 8 players (Campbell, Seabrook, Keith, Hjalmarsson, Kane, Toews, Hossa, and Sharp) for next year. I'm sure they have others locked up next year at low salaries, I was just going by the big names that I was pretty sure have deals beyond this year. -
I'm fine with this.
-
It wasn't that Green made himself vulnerable, it was that Stepan went to the head on his hit. He had every opportunity to lay a huge hit going shoulder on shoulder instead of going elbow to head.
-
You don't mind a blatant elbow to the head? Stepan could have easily gotten retribution with a clean hit, the elbow to the head was over the top.
-
Haha this is pretty hilarious. Reminds me of high school when my friends and I would ball tag each other in the hallway walking past one another. Good times (if you weren't getting ball tagged).

Konnan511, on 20 February 2011 - 12:36 PM, said: If you can afford the big tv, then you can afford the 10 dollar cord to hook your computer up to your tv screen. They have HDMI to HDMI and they also have computer to HDMI converters for another 10 bucks. That's not the point. I pay $160 to watch out of market games then can't watch it. That doesn't make sense. Plus the picture from hooking up your computer via HDMI is nowhere near as nice as the HD picture from my TV.
