Pronger would end up like Bertuzzi. Way more harm than good and a black eye on the type of quality players we want on the team. Don't sell your soul for thirty pieces of silver or in this case one big piece of silver. Pronger would require a very long time to forgive Detroit over. I would almost have to root for Saint Louis or Montreal instead.

Been told for at least a decade now, that I played just like Brendan Shanahan. I have the same height and a few pounds lighter, not the greatest skater or defensive play but will be in the top three in scoring and most of it from shots within the face off circle areas. Hell, we even have the same first name but I shoot left handed, not right.

Who cares? Let the media talk all they want about the Pens, Crosby, Habs, Sharks, anyone and anything. And let the Red Wings go about their business of dominating and winning. The rest of the league can have all those media interviews, ice girls, mascots, gimmicks and flashy shows. I only care about the quality of the six Wings on the ice at any given time. It's better to be the quiet professional than the boastful idiot with nothing to back it up.

I'm from the StL as well and of course this is the best thing that has happened for the Blues in the last couple of years. It only demonstrates just how sad that organization has become. It was once a classy, hard working institution, then the Keenan years began and it's only gotten worse every year. It's really hard to tolerate the NHL right now. I rather watch minor leagues and college teams play.

I like the Wings and......Blues. So have at it. Anyway to the Ducks, Getzlaf is the go to guy. Everyone else is trade bait or need unemployment slips.

Bettman's reaction to this piece of news: Wings vs Hawks sure do a lot better on TV than twelve games in a row of the Sabres and Pens playing a 2-1 game. Who knew? Answer: Everyone but NHL offices.

He already is a legend. Would the Wings have won in 97 without him? I doubt it. He is the walking definition of a power forward. Three Cups, six hundred plus goals and he's a nobody. Whatever. Hate to break it but at some point in the future Babcock's coaching won't be up to Detroit's standards and he will be let go, fire, etc. He won't be coaching this team forever. And where would Shanahan have fit on this team when Coach B came? Everyone complains for a hard hitting forward. Well we got rid of that guy when the new system came into effect. You get the power forward or the system and we picked the system. Glad Shanny is going back to his original team. Have him play this year and the next. Let him retire and then get him to run this league and throw that NBA punk out on his a$$.

Pierre, Bernie Federko, and Eddie O have to be the worst of hockey commentators. I'm trying to think who is the worst, but my mind would explode.

With each passing day of NHL news, I slowly increase my hatred for mankind and the 21st century.

Dallas Drake. Joey K. throwing a chair on the ice. Patrick Roy and his glove hand. Trading for a Brendan Shanahan that is twelve years younger. A freakin' comet headed for Earth. Anything. Perhaps a Baptist revival preacher should give a pep talk in the locker room. We've tried everything else.

The Hawks fans have hated the longest, the Blues are just the most fierce right now. Not much love from the Toronto metro area but since we rarely see them anymore it has lost a lot. But everyone hates us. Even the League itself. The Wings don't fit into their view of hockey or business. And, yes, the Wings Nation seem to hate Crosby the most, but in Saint Louis too, there is little love of Crosby, it's much more in favor of Alex the Great.

I'm glad Chicago is getting better and better. It seemed wrong to have such a great jersey with such a poor record. Hopefully they continue in years to come and make for some great games with the Wings and Blues. Those three teams need to be the best in the West cause really they are the only ones I can stand. Better than hearing about the Ducks or Avalanche or God help us the Coyotes. That and I prefer the Class of 67 and prior teams. That said, Hawks could prove a feisty b***h come playoffs.

I like my arenas and stadiums just one notch away from being condemned. There's just something better about it. I already have live in a society of smoking bans, safety signs, and puritanical soccer moms. I want a hockey rink where you're not quite sure what was spilled on the floor. I like bathrooms that never flush, get cleaned, etc. If only we were allowed smoking and chucking trash all over the place it would be heaven. I like the humbled abode. It makes people under-estimate the team and fans at every turn. Simply put, the Joe is good for another 75 years.

Not so much disgusted, as feeling let down. The Red Wings organization has too much class to let trash like that on this team. It's bad enough we already had to have Bertuzzi wear the jersey, why Pronger? He's only a tough guy when trying to throw cheap hits against smaller players and getting hurt in the process. His leadership is a disaster. He's got an attitude that would make Brett Hull look like a monk. If that's the kind of team we want in some self inflicted desperation moment for toughness and better play a quarter into the season then go ahead. Maybe Mike Danton could be next when he is available. Or Claude The Turtle?

I still miss Brett Hull.

Wings are boring? Compared to what? The breath-taking losing of Ottawa, Florida, or St. Louis? The jackass team called the Flyers? The loaded up but can win the whole thing New York Rangers? The often talked about but can't crack the third round Sharks? Gary Bettman's girlfriend Penguins' captain? The whole league is a bit more boring than say the mid-90's but then the game itself has changed. How can anyone follow Fox's glow puck? We knew once that was gone, the game was finished. I'll take classy D-man Captain and winning or exciting losing like we had the other night.

I agree, but we are, also, the best team to combat the hangover and we have the right coach to bring about reality. Adversity is a good thing. We must constantly innovate, improve, and adapt. We've been doing for the better part of two decades to get where we are. Maybe this is the game to snap back into some hard working, 60 min, grind 'em out hockey. Maybe it will take a ten game slump. Either way, Babcock will drill them out of it. To whom much is given, much is expected. People have constructed the best team in hockey from the coaches to the GM to the scouts. It's time the players earn such hard work on their behalf.

So by smart economics, budgets, and investments. Sounds like we have our guide right there. Let the bad economic teams fail. If the league won't let teams move or fold, let the laws of supply and demand do the job.

I rather see Shanahan go to Saint Louis or Chicago than to the Flyers. Words cannot describe my hated for Philly (in all sports). I still think he would best back on his original team, the Devils.
