He's not a top 4 d-man either. Lebda and Lilja are 5-6 guys right now, and though they show promise, they are our "Scrubs", and lidstrom can make them look better, and actually become better. Id rather add another forward and roll with the D that we have...Quincy is a good call up if needed. The kid di well in the playoffs.

How anyone can fault the guy for making his family 11 million over the next two years, moving to one of the best states in the country(professionally, he already lives there), and playing for a serious cup contender, at the age of 38, i insane, I wish it would have been anyone but the SDucks, but good for him. Rafalski takes 99% of that sting away for me.

I like this signing...he is a top 2 defender, and even though he's costing us, it makes me feel better about not having Schneider... He isnt "Just" entering the prime of his career, but he is in it and will be there for a few more years. Holland made a very smart move here. If Lidstrom only plays 1-3 more years, we have a solid guy to fill his void (not that anyone truly could) I love this signing

I dont think he woudl be a "Replacement" for schneider at all, but he is a solid defenseman, and id love to see him in a wings uni. If we lose schneider, I dont see us replacing his offense, so ill take a solid d insted. Then again, im half crazy A year ago I would have said youre crazy to even post this kind of insane talk, but youre right. He makes smart moves, and im sure he will continue to do so.
