To make it a COMPLETE grand slam of an off-season -
HuntsVegas Baby replied to stevkrause's topic in General
Cannot agree more. What is the fasination still with Bertuzzi? That guy was a train wreck in Detroit. Let him go ruin another team. -

I assume be early exits you mean he plays a light amount of games per season. Wil he has played 201 of a possible 246 possible, thats better than Bertuzzi will give. He doesn't need to the workhorse, Besides he was a "Witch" on the shootouts. -

Wings should forget Sundin, Demitra and Bertuzzi. All these guys will be available in the "rent a player category" by years end. They should go back and Jason Williams for 1.5 to 1.8 mil. Williams was a very good player on the second/third line when with the Wings and may want to come back, I know he felt jadded when he was traded but the Wings have a way of getting folks to come back. This leaves us plenty of money at years end and for next year when need to lock up Hank and The Mule. Chicago Suns Times "The Hawks won't be doing much more during free agency. They're at the cap, meaning it will be hard to bring back unrestricted free agents Jason Williams and Kevyn Adams, though Tallon said re-signing those two remains under consideration." -
Lidstrom and Osgood, do they get their numbers retired?
HuntsVegas Baby replied to SFwingsfan's topic in General
Wow, so much unlove for the guy won just won a cup. Lids yes. Feds yes. Ozzie yes. Oz is a huge fan favorite, he will have atleast 2 cups and over 400 wins. All three numbers will be hung. -
First, thanks for your highly intelligent and thoughtful response to my suggestion. Second, the last part of my statement read "if he gets in then he gets in." If Modano is a first ballot HOF than why not Selanne or Sundin? If Modano gets first ballot it is b/c he is American born (b/c there are so few that were this good) not because he was dominant. Remember the thread stated, if he left now, and if Modano left now, he would not be a first ballot HOF but I believe a HOF one day. I forgot, OZZIE is a lock!

Honestly, I cannot see anyone other than Shanny following making it in there first year or two of eligibility. Others off this list may get in, but it is a "if one gets in than nine more should get in" type thing. You should probably keep the same list and ask "who doesn't make it?"

We haven't already clinched this thing?

And Grant Fuhr didn't play on stacked teams. If Dom is in, Ozzie is in. Grant Fuhr 403 Wins and 3.37 GAA Ozzie 344 Wins and counting and 2.44 GAA 40-50 more wins and he is in!

What the hell is this? Who's on the fourth line? Where's my trivia question? What's Haseks' lifetime stats against lefthanders from more than 15' away from the left side of the crease? AFLAC!

Great and Powerful OZ continues his 75-0 campaign! No Hudler! That guy can't get a break. Downey V Tootoo, let's see it. Wings 4 Preds 1

I just pissed myself! Really, bring Mac back for some on the ice commentary. Imagine him and Micky Redman calling a game? Hilarious!

I was waiting for the right thread to give credit to Ozzie. I am loving this little run and because of this I have a couple of points to bring up about Ozzies Career. If you leveled out the number of games played equal to Fatty Roy (1029) and took into account the winning percentage, here would be the top three goalies ALL TIME WINS Brodeur 900 games, 497 wins would get 568 total wins Osgood 628 games, 343 wins would get 562 total wins Roy of course 1029 games and has 551 total wins Note: Hasek 701 games, 366 wins would get 537 wins. Also, it was stated last night after the Calgary game that this was the FIRST TIME EVER Detroit swept Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary in a three game road trip. And Osgood netted them all. If you ride a hot goalie during the playoffs, why not ride one durnig the season? I cannot believe Oz once rode the bench for Legace?

May not be over just yet. "Grigorenko came to his first NHL training camp in 2007 in disappointing physical condition and struggled. After demotions to AHL Grand Rapids on Oct. 1 and 27, he exercised an escape clause in his contract to return to Russia. But the Red Wings say they haven't given up on him. They will monitor his play in Russia and will keep his rights by tendering a qualifying offer to him by July 1, 2008. If Grigorenko improves his conditioning, he could be at camp for 2008-09. He told the Detroit media through an interpreter upon his departure in 2007 that he dreams of rejoining the Red Wings, and that he will work harder until then to make the team."

I have never made the first page of a game day thread! Driving kids to school pays off! Tonights Line and Pick Detroit +115 San Jose -135 Total 5 -110 I would love to take the wings with the money (doesn't happen very often) but again the total of Over 5 looks good.

Thank god smoeone started this thread! OZZIE OZZIE OZZIE!

Anyone else curious on Downey being added to the line up on this trip. Tag-Team Cage Match Tonight Downey & The Drake v Parros & Perry

Wow! Over here we have Detroit Even Anaheim -120 Total 5 -120 You sure get some screwy odds over there! If I am reading you right Detroit is almost gettting 2 to 1 for a straight up win? Or are they giving half money, meaning you pay $1.95 to win $1.00? Either way is off from here. My pick: Take the over 5 (-120), looking for 4-2 or atleast 2-2 w/ shootout.

I agree but how ugly is that Kopecky-Ellis-Maltby line? Makes Maltby look like a Hall of Famer. -

Hell we can bet on anything here in the States, I persoanally have been laying some cash on THE ALL BLACKS! That's actually pretty good! Here we have the odds like this and this is how it works. Chicago +270 (you would win $270 against a $100 bet-refered to as a longshot) Detroit -320 (you would have to lay $320 to win $100) Over/Under 5 -135 If you put $20 here on the Wings you would only have the chance to hit for $6.25. So if you are getting $9.00 back, the Wings are really like only -220 (Huge!) If I were you and gambled (Hence my name), I would lay $200 on the over 5 for the $130.00 payout, not great odds but like the over none the less. Good luck. Oh and take the over on Hawaii 70 (-110) tonight in College football. -

Shouldn't we use HDZ, playing off the whole HD (Hi-Def) everything, thing. Anyway, 5-1 WIngs Homer 2, Z 1, Cleary 1 and Lilja 1 Langer 1, +6 PIM in hooking calls -
I have been in a stuper the last couple of days so please catch me up. How the hell did Ellis make this team? Great job Aflac and WIngs 3-2!
