I said back in the pre-season if we turn this team over to the kids, we'd have ourselves something. Mantha, Larkin, Sproul, Ouellet, exciting to watch. Can't wait for AA to get back. Mrazek was great, and Jurco even looked pretty good with Sheahan and Ott. Let's keep it going.

Those PP units in overtime were pitiful. Ericsson on the ice in OT (despite D injuries) is inexcusable. This coach stinks. Good news is Mantha, Sproul, Ouellet and Mrazek all looked good. And we did get a point.

If we're anywhere close to the playoffs he won't be dealt. Kenny will call it an own rental kind of s***. If we're out by a big margin, I think he might actually trade him.

Mantha should not play another AHL game, ever again. Great win, nice seeing the kids step up and Nielsen and Green bump some slumps.

Mantha was our best forward in the 3rd period and Blash has him serve Howard's penalty You can't write the s*** this coach does. The race to the bottom continues. As much as it will suck if we miss the playoffs, the franchise will be better for it. I just hope as the losses mount the coach doesn't sit kids in favor of vets. Mantha, Sproul, AA need to keep playing. I'd like to see XO in as well but that will never happen. We need to have Kronwall's veteran leadership.

This teams offense under Blashill has been a complete disaster, Enough with the defensive fetish, time to turn the offensive forwards lose. I'd rather be losing 5-4 than 1-0 most nights, there's too much talent up front and we STILL can't score any goals. Time for a change.

I'm envisioning a "Shane McMahon NOW owns WCW" moment where Kenny is giving a press conference at the end of the year and the camera cuts to Yzerman saying he's running the show now. A guy can dream.

Time for Sproul to be a regular defenceman every single ******* night for the rest of the season. Ouellet should be in too, but that's expecting too much from Blash. It was satisfying watching Sproul and Mantha make great plays on the PP to get us back in the game. Love when the kids show the coach they are better than the veterans he favors. Bad bounce for Petr at the end, but really I'm starting to accept the team isn't very good and won't do much this year. If we can play exciting hockey, and have the kids excel, that's good enough for me.

When the team is struggling to score goals and generate offense, BUMP UP GLENDENING BABY! Seriously, is it that much to ask for the coach to play the skill players? Stop scapegoating, Z should be moved to the third line. Larkin, Nyquist, and Mantha need to be moved up, not Glendening.

Jimmy was bound to fall back to earth eventually. Mantha looked good before the game got out of hand. I know it's preaching to the choir, but what does Marchenko have to do to come out of the line-up? Sproul and Ouellet have both been much better this year. I'd say both of them should be in for March and Kronwall, but especially the second one will never happen. His puck movement is still solid, but he's a complete boat anchor when opposing forwards force him to turn and defend.

Bert is a good start. Feel for Mantha, but he needs to use the disrespect the organization is showing him and continue to dominate in the AHL. Before long, even with this outdated thinking management and coaching staff, if he keeps putting up numbers they'll have to put him in before long.

Imagine four lines that could play: Tatar-Larkin-Abby Nyquist-Nielsen-Vanek Athanasiou-Zetterberg-Mantha Sheahan-Glendening-Helm Or some sort of variation of all those players, as long as those 12 are playing.

Anyone who watched the Lions game probably didn't want their elation to disappear by watching the Wings Seriously though, we aren't a very good team. Goal tending is the only reason we sit where we sit. Just like last year, we can’t score and the defense can’t transition the puck. There’s no reason why Marchenko should be playing over Sproul or Ouellet. Continuing to trod out the OMG line and watch them get crushed is bad coaching. And speaking of bad coaching, our PP units could use some work. Who’d have guessed we’d miss Vanek so much?

Now that Ericsson has regressed back to his norm, there should be no issues swapping XO/Sproul in for Marchenko/E. Our breakout was really strong when Sproul was in, and all Ouellet does is never make mistakes. Let's give these guys minutes and see what they can give us. DK is getting killed all over the ice because the coach is asking too much of him. Kronner looked pretty good for his first game back in forever. Why not run: Smith-Green Dekeyser-Kronwall Ouellet-Sproul? I mean right now the defence can't get much worse, so having 6 D that skate and break out pretty well would help. The coach has this strange idea that you must have forwards/defence specifically for PK. All six of the guys I want playing can PK, you don't need Ericsson and Marchenko for that. This was a problem last year too, we couldn't score or create offense to save our lives and the coach is worried about blocking shots and penalty killing. Yes, those things are important. But they don't ******* matter if you can't score and control the goddamn puck.

Jeff hasn't made many good decisions since he took off his glasses. I wonder if he can even see whats happening on the ice?

Helm had half the net and tons of room to back off and make a play, instead he turns it over and good night. Dekeyser as per usual this season, was awful as well. Good thing were banking points, because were not very good. (very happy the Wings saved their two best games of the season for when I was at the Joe)

Gotta be Marchenko. He's been rough. I'd hate to see Ouellet waived, he's going to be solid. In an ideal world he and Sproul would be playing. But E is playing well (can't believe it) and Kronwall is a vet so of course he's going to play.

Another great night at the Joe, two great games by the boys. Howard was the man tonight, and the whole leftie-rightie thing on defence is making a big difference in the breakouts. Hope we can keep it up. Also hope the Lions can get a win tomorrow to really make this weekend great

Seeing Marchenko live last night really confirmed for me that he's struggling. On the flip side, E has looked great the last two games. I want Ouellet and Sproul in the line-up, but I'm with you in thinking Blash probably won't mess with it. Excited to go to the Joe again tonight, can't wait to boo the s*** out of Thornton. Hope Jimmy has a solid start and we continue to be the toughest team in hockey this season....

What a game! The Preds back to back goals silenced the Joe pretty quick, but the Wings responded well. Tatar's goal and the Larkin fight early in the third got the place rocking. Wings played really well. Subban sucks! Can't wait to go back tonight, Wings are undefeated when I'm in the building

Since the prospects section didn't mention the AHL by name I figured I'd put this in here. I don't know about other people, but I follow the Griffins pretty closely throughout the year to see how guys are doing. So, to kick things off. Anthony Mantha has 5 goals in 3 games so far, just scored a hat trick tonight against Iowa. As Blashill would say, "not an elite player at the AHL level"
