I'm surprised no one has voted for that lazy floater Jason Williams. That signing pissed me right off when it happened all those (five) years ago and I remember Holland's quote of "that gives us an extra 20 goals season."

If I did as bad a job as Ken Holland over the last few years at my workplace I'd have been fired about seven times by now. Remember, Kenny gets paid a hell of a lot of money to supposedly make this team better. What has he done to make it better since Lidstrom retired? What part of his actual job has he done besides sit on his hands and take the easy options time and time again? This team has SCRAPED into the playoffs for two seasons running and his response is to re-sign two of the worst players and give himself a pat on the back? I've said it so many times over the years and I'll keep saying it in stronger terms with every ridiculous move he makes. Ken Holland is a fraud. Without Håkan Andersson he would have been found out years ago. This roster is his product, the Franzen contract will be his legacy, and it'll be a miracle if we keep the playoff streak alive with a weaker and somehow OLDER roster than before. Bottom line: Holland has failed year after year to replace Lidstrom and Holmstrom. His signings in the last few years have been nothing short of laughable. There is loyalty to players but more importantly is loyalty to the fans to do his job and create the best roster in his power to compete for the Stanley Cup. The complacency is infuriating.

Remember when we all used to joke about them both re-signing like we thought it wasn't possible it could happen? I feel like it's our fault. We made this happen. We joked too much...

1.5m with a 1m bonus? ... I'll come back tomorrow and someone will tell me this is all a joke. That doesn't sound like any 2 way deal I've heard of!

Who else burst out laughing when they heard? All Ken Holland has done this offseason is sign players for Grand Rapids...at least that's what we hope he's doing...

More worthy than the effort used to type your post... I went for "A healthy Player X is our deadline acquisition" as we hear that one every year, even though every team has players returning from injury throughout the year so it means jack s***.

Holland is starting to piss me off now, stocking Grand Rapids with all these small local forwards. Give it a ******* rest! Grand Rapids isn't exactly a big team as it is.

Doubt it. Both guys wear the A and are hugely respected in the GR organisation, especially Evans. There's no room for the Cleary donkey in the Grand Rapids inn. He will bring nothing to the team that it doesn't already have and with the veteran rotation Blashill would just bench him for most games and it would be plain sad. Cleary was one of my favourite players back in like 2008. You watch clips of him from those years and it's like a completely different player.

For the last time for all the people who keep saying it, GRAND RAPIDS DOES NOT NEED MORE VETERAN PLAYERS. DAN CLEARY HAS NO PLACE IN GRAND RAPIDS. GR was already two players over the maximum veterans rule as of the end of last season, and they were players who could actually skate and score. The Griffins, in case anyone hasn't noticed, are actually a great team as it is and were only knocked out of the AHL playoffs by the Texas Stars who are one game away from winning the Calder Cup. One more time; Grand Rapids already has effective veterans and plenty of leadership. It does not need a broken down immobile Cleary halting the development of our younger guys. We happen to be very stacked at forward in GR as it is. Please God no. Retire already.

There's not one forward in Grand Rapids I would scratch for Dan Cleary. Why dump him on those of us who like to watch the youngsters play? I was done with Ken Holland a long time ago, and have been saying his scouts have over inflated his reputation for YEARS now. The guy does nothing but play safe with the talent his SCOUTS acquired for him. Waste of space. Babcock is keeping the playoff streak alive at the moment.

Mitch Callahan. He is essentially Tomas Holmstrom but with extra fightings and yappings. The loss of Holmstrom in his retirement is one of the most underrated losses on this team by the management staff, and one they've never sought to address. They need to. They can talk about team toughness all they want, but there's no one in the Wings who is a patch on Holmstrom except Callahan.

Griffins lighting up and The Mitch isn't even back yet. I've got a great feeling they can go all the way. A hockey team that plays with PASSION and ENERGY. Griffins have got an almost perfect blend of size, skill, speed and physicality. Gonna be heard to stop. Just wish the Wings took a few lessons on how GR has lit up the AHL the past few years.

He's been sent back down to GR. Even if it was one game it was great to see him in a Wings jersey. Hopefully he can get on the roster after training camp.

At least Callahan looked a lot more of an NHL player than Ferraro did. Nice one Mitch (Y)
