THAT HIT WAS CLEAN !

I think Dom gets to call the shots whether he starts or not, for the most part. I'm glad he's enthusiastic. But, yes, Ozzie needs some starts in case ...well, I won't say it. And besides that, I have him in my fantasy league.

1270 Sports: Babcock says "players will be dealt"
58Miles2Joe replied to The Enforcer's topic in General
Barry Melrose hates the Wings. He's probably saying that just to make me mad. I could see Guerin staying with the Wings for a couple years. I don't know why, it just seems like something that would happen. -
BARRY MELROSE HATES THE RED WINGS ! Here's more proof... "PetroLES" sends in the following on Bill Guerin: "Barry Melrose reported on a radio show here in New York (WFAN) that the Isles are close to getting Guerin." that's from the spector site

Did we talk about this already and I missed it? I ran across this: http://www.clickondetroit.com/nhl/11083157/detail.html# at the bottom it says "In team personnel news, Detroit picked up a former Predator for the upcoming stretch drive when it signed veteran center Greg Johnson on Monday. The 35- year-old had spent the previous seven seasons with Nashville and ranks second on the Predators' all-time list for games played. Johnson, who began his 12-year NHL career with Detroit in 1993, had re-joined the Red Wings as a free agent over the summer. However, he was forced to briefly retire prior to the start of the season after a training-camp physical revealed an abnormality in his heart." Is he going to play? Anyone know anything about this? Could this be a precursor to a trade?

Yeah, that's what I thought at first, too, but then it talked about Hank's first hat trick. You should've read the article.

Williams and a third for The Voyd !
-
That 3rd round pick is interesting. It seems like someone offered something that basically matched an Upshall, Parent, 1st rounder so NSH had to throw in that 3rd to push it over the edge. Mere speculation of course, but made me wonder what Ken offered (or Burke, or whoever else). I think NSH made a good move. Go for the cup this year while you have the chance, don't wait and build. Honestly, I also think the Wings need more than one player and maybe not getting Foresy is a blessing in disguise. We need to replace Williams for sure (don't argue, yes we do). Samuelson is a big question mark. Hudler is a gamble. Cleary brings good things, but is not producing with Williams/Lang. Drapes and Malts are offensive non-factors and have become strictly one-dimensional. Trying to use Dats and Zetts on seperate lines to increase other's output didn't work. Let's not kid ourselves, the Wings offense has more holes than Peter's missing spleen. We're only one injury away from being totally out-gunned. Hopefully we can get Guerin or Tkachunk (an impact player) and another quality guy, too. If not, we might be best-served by adding a truckload of also-rans, and hope a couple of them get hot. Smolinski, Gelinas-types. And give Jason Allison a call (yeah, I said it!)

Seattle, YES ! Detroit would get to move to the Eastern Conference ! woot ! / never happen

Here's some old snippets on him: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...=NHL&id=434 Then from the Toronto Star from 1/27 SLOW-MOVING RUMOUR: Finally, there were a lot of rumours floating at the all-star game. Here's one regarding the Leafs that didn't make the rounds: Jason Allison, who has not played yet this season, returning to the Leafs to cover the loss of centres Mike Peca and Kyle Wellwood.
