I hate to say it, but if I remember correctly, his contract expires at the end of next season. If they bring him back, it's just throwing a giant wrench in the rebuild and the progress of this team. This system does not work. Period. I'm so sick and tired, and extremely bored of the dump and chase, if they happen to get it, put it around the boards to the point. D shoots it, 1 on 5 make it on net without getting blocked. Rinse, repeat. They need new coaching, including Bylsma, they can both go.

Yeah these lines aren't set in stone, this is what Khan reported were the lines in practice this morning. Obviously I goofed and Larkin is at C on the first line and Mantha on Wing, but Helm was on the 1st with them today.

They really are wanting to open up every opportunity for Darren Helm to thrive on the first line by putting the hardest working player on the team at Center.

Get him going, now that he has that first goal out of the way, and Bert comes back, that's a pretty decent top 2 lines of Bert - Larkin - Mantha and Ryan - Fabbri - Brome If they would pull their head out of their ass and sit our geezer line, we could have something like Namestnikov - Svechnikov - Hirose and Erne - Glendening - Smith and cycle out Helm, Gagner, Filppula, and Nielsen. Play the kids!

I'm really baffled by how Bernier never found a long term starter job on any team he's been on before coming here. He's consistently great, he rarely lets in bad goals and he keeps us in every single game he plays in. I don't get it.

It looks like they are running 7 D tonight with DeKeyser back, Merril, Djoos, Hronek, Biega, Staal, and Nemeth are all in this game. I guess they told him he can play, but if he starts feeling like the injury is nagging, they can pull him and run without being shorthanded on D.

Yeah Helm on the top line is something else, I don't even know what to think. Bernier with the start, here we go.
