Dom is on his way to the HOF, so why reignite old squabbles? (Although I still nurse an infinitesimal quantum of hope of Hasek unretiring "Selenne-style" for the third time - late this season and getting a third cup with the Wings )

I am posting this because I have seen discussions about almost any other line combination imaginable, but nobody has (to my knowledge) mentioned this one? Why? Why not put Eurotwins back together with Holmstrom or Cleary and Hudler - Franzen - Hossa seems pretty obvious to me that both lines would have size, speed, skill, everything ...

Then send Lidstrom and Hossa down for a conditioning stint! :-D /pls. disregard waivers, one-way, etc - insanity intended/

Bring up somebody for sure. The logic is obvious - since next season we lose some of our current players for sure, any extra experience we can provide to our youth is more than welcome. And an 18-4-4 record give you more than enough space for a bit of (failed) experimenting.

gee, here we go again ... Hasek the sissy. I thought I have seen the last of those I just do not get it, how you can try to second guess how serious his injury was. If he listened to the likes of you and played, and aggravated the injury, everybody would be saying "What an idiot, why did he play if he knew his injury was not healed?"

Well, what happened exactly was that in the Olympics, they were more lenient as far as goalie pad size was concerned, so Hasek took his old equipment to Italy. It got lost in the air transport, so he had to use someone elses equipment. Which actually was not the problem per se, because - as somebody in a Senators forum explained at the time - it was the width of the pads which requires slightly different moves (I do not remember exactly), and Hasek not being used to it, and ... the rest is history. But as for Ozzie/Conklin, I would give them one or two more months to do whatever they need to do to improve. As last season showed, goalies can get cold/hot in an blink of an eye. So why upset the whole set up, if there is still time?

Now that I think of it, it could even be Hudler - Fill - Hossa and leave Franzen for the third line to spread the talent somewhat. ------------------- And BTW, I know that it is completely off topic: He-is-lazy-and-he-sucks has just scored two goals against Calgary

Now, watching Osgood being in the same pit like Conklin the last game - why don't we ask Hasek to come back from retirement again? He won't probably be much worse than last year, being the veteran that he is. If he agreed to be a backup to Osgood and fired him up as he did last time, I would be the proverbial happy camper. OK. I am drunk and depressed. But let me dream.

Sometimes they may do more harm then good, but what about giving Howard some much needed NHL experience? While we are still up in the standings and can afford it ...

Actually, I remember when Hull had just retired, journalists asked Hasek what he thought of Hull. He had only words of praise for Hull (...exceptional forward, etc. ). Then somebody said " but it's the guy who scored that illegal goal on you SCF. " h Hasek iMmediately reacted "then I take everything back!" And everybody laughed knowing it was a joke. So I think Hasek had no problem with the goal in the end.

If I may step in, as a Czech native and a trained linguist: you can pronounce the "C" in Kopecky if you kinda "merge" "t" and "s" together and pronounce them with the tip of your tongue just behind your teeth. Many Slavic languages have it - typical is the russian word "tzar". English does not have the sound so it comes with "the next best thing" which is "ts" or "tz".

I, for one, hope the Wings players (and fans) are hungry and feel like they have gone nowhere yet, because it will drive them onwards. It is dangerous to feel satisfied in do-or-die matchups. Go Wings, the SC finals are just four wins away!

Not exactly, just imagine, if Hasek buys the whole D a drink and each player buys Hasek a drink - I think Hasek would be unconscious before finishing them (the drinks) off

I am glad you posted it. It bothers me too. Mistakes happen, but mistaking a normal goal for an empty netter? How drunk do you have to be for that? :-)
