Come on guys ... this was not intended as a serious discussion. It is a freaky result, nothing more. Everybody knows that Sweden could field at least two teams that would beat Hungary 10 times out of 10.

and the "Belfour mentoring Hasek" idea is really good. Hasek arrived to Chicago after a decade of being basically the best goalie and hockey player in Czechoslovakia. Unique in style. I do not doubt that Belfour and he shared insights but "mentoring"

Once per season is not enough?

No, you are wrong because your arguments - both qualitatively and quantitatively - are silly (aka: they dont make any sense). They have been shown wrong time and again in this thread and you keep repeating them. That is beyond silly. Dom is costing around 800K + 1.1M in bonuses IF he "delivers" the cup. Deal of the year, if he and the Wings go that far. There is no indication he is there for the bucks any more and if you have anything to prove the opposite - bring it. Otherwise your argument is just slander. Hasek, when injured last season, had 28 wins in 42 games, PLUS he was second in GAA and Sv%. You call this PAST??? Granted, he has lost a step in the Sv% this year (may be due to Wings not allowing many shots), but he still is among the best in all other respects. You call this PAST??? Nobody is denying Eddie is a good tender. Even if he really is as good as Dom (he sucked last year in Toronto, remember?) why change what works? Dont bring in the injury BS. Check the league for goalies injuries first. Dont bring in past mistakes and misfortunes. Nobody here is arguing that Eddie is a drunkard. Nice phrases - but no argument. Thats the type of silly phrases you learn at management courses to impress and sound cool, but it is BS.

You are getting really tiresome. The main point is - WE DO NOT HAVE TO SAY OR PROVE ANYTHING - Theodore sucks and has done so for quite some time and there is no indication he is about to change. If you want us/Wings get interested in Theodore - YOU HAVE TO PROVE IT TO THEM THAT HE IS WORTH CONSIDERING - and rock bottom price just wont cut it - Wings management is not into saving, they care only about WINNING!!! And about Belfour being much healthier than Dom - this season we have seen so many younger goalies with a better health record fall to long-term injuries, (DiPietro being the last example) that this argument just doesnt make sense - there is no way to predict which goalie will break down and which will stay healthy. Can you put together any other argument why to get rid of Hasek?
-
This is where I lost you - how on earth can you predict whether a seriously underperforming player can regain his form of years back??? Your posts show only one thing - you cannot stand Hasek. Your arguments are beyond contempt.
-
What a brilliant idea - lets get rid of one of the best goalies in the league (by almost any standard) and bring in a netminder who is hitting rock bottom to check if he improves or not??? Unless both Dom and Ozzie absolutely sucked in the playoffs, there'd be riots if Theodore showed up in Detroit!! And even with that I think Belfour might be a better idea than Theodore. Simply put, if Dom shows in the PO that he can step it up when the season is on the line, and if he still wants to play next year there is no way he could get the boot.

CREEPY GOOD!!!
-
Yeah! Hasek's stupid play and poor offensive effort caused the Wings score only two goals in two games! Get rid of this embarrassment to the team!!!
-
typical ... just ask the Oilers
-
Well, everything is possible, but some things - like Theodore springing back - seem very, very unlikely.

Flames have a much tougher schedule ahead of them. Avs will steal their spot.

I am still holding my fingers crossed for Colorado to make it to the playoffs :-) Wouldn't it be nice to beat them in the first round? Although, if they make it they would be on a tear and might be quite dangerous to deal with. But then, who isn't?

3:1 Wings Go Go Go!!!!

I have a feeling that Brodeur is slowing down of late. Maybe the idea of 78 starts in the regular season may not have been that bright after all?
-
Hey man, how many smilies should I add to a sentence, so that it is understood as a joke?
-
Hasek, when at his best, was the best of all his contemporaries, remember Nagano and Gretzky's frustration. and by the way, this year, at 42, Hasek is carrying the lowly Detroit to the Presidents trophy!

Wings 4 Preds 3 a close one today
-
56 PAGES??? Auch! I wanted to read the GDT but this is crazy. What will it be during the playoffs 100?
-
Anticlimactic game - I have a bad feeling about this one - Kings 3 Wings 2 in the shootout ...
-
Yeah, followed by 5 minutes of 2 on 2 and another 5 of 1 on 1. If the score is even by then, the goalies fight it out, rugby style
-
That is gonna be a close one. Ozzie gets hot and we win 3:1.
-
The officials did not rule anything, right after the whistle the entire Stars team and who not jumped onto the ice celebrating and they did not have the balls to rule against it. official #1 official #2

Yeah, lets sharpen our axes ... 5:2 for the good guys tonight (or 4:2 if they miss the empty netter)
