I really enjoyed it. Showed it to a non hockey fan out here in Phoenix and they enjoyed it so thats a good endorsement. I will say I did enjoy the book a little more as it went into more detail for all subjects the movie covered.

Vegas could have got him for free and passed and Philly didnt want him a week ago. It took a playoff team losing both goalies for Mrazek to have any type of trade value. He was never going to stay in Detroit so might as well get something for him while you can.

Are people really upset that Nosek got taken? Really? The guy tops out as maybe a decent 3rd line guy. Our team is full of 3/4 line plugs. Outside of Kronwall or Big Erection this was the best available outcome.

If they take Fleury they aren't taking Mrazek. I don't believe they are going to take a goalie just to trade him. The goalie market is so saturated right now there is no profit. They are better off stocking up on extra Dmen if they intend to trade right away. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I agree protecting Z is excessive and is a spot wasted but then again I can see why they did. He has earned that respect for what hes done and as captain.

I dont hate Mrazek at all. I just understand that he hasnt done anything beyond have a hot couple weeks at the NHL level. Outside of that he has done nothing special. We all know that everyones favorite wings goalie is "the next goalie". Mrazeks shiney new toy luster still hasnt worn off for some. He was a bad goalie on a bad team. Everyone overvalues players on their own team.

Hey he brought up the game itself as a testament of Mrazeks play. All I pointed out was that the defining moment of that game was his mistake. Your big picture is a bit skewed. You state Mrazek has a long career ahead of him with a lot of upside yet he has yet to show he will have any of that. If Howard is as bad as you are making him out why hasnt Mrazek with that long career ahead of him and all that upside taken the spot and kept it?

So he went 1-2 with two of those games being at home and we are supposed to be impressed? How did that game 5 end by the way. Mrazek and his vaunted puckhandling virtually whiffing on a pass behind the net and not hustling back allowing Tampa to tap one in with a minute left.

Spells of underperforming? Is that whats called. Mrazek has under-performed more in his time in the NHL than he has performed. That is not a spell. That is the norm. Did you really say that the shootout is the determination of a good goalie? That is the most insane thing in this thread so far. A goalie that performs in the 65 minute prior to the shootout is far more important than a goalie that can perform in the gimmick skills competition. Its sure nice that Mrazek might be able to get a point every now and then in the shootout. Not nearly nice enough to make up for the two points lost in regulation time far more often.

Mrazek has been brilliant at times yes but horrible a lot more. You cant disregard his bad play because of the s***ty defense because Howard put up good numbers behind the same defense. You also cant say that he suffers from anemic offense because in general the team scored a heck of a lot more with him in net than they did Howard. At one point last year they were scoring a full goal more with Mrazek in net than Howard so you cant blame the offense for anything on Mrazeks numbers.

Mrazek has had two seasons to make the job his and instead has done nothing to separate himself from an older, inconsistent, and injury prone goalie. Add to that he has shown times of having a sense of entitlement and a s*** attitude about having to earn the job. Factor in that you know come next season he is going to be demanding a starters pay for a job he hasn't earned. Outside of about 2-3 months combined the last two seasons he has been a bust compared to the expectations. Holland sees this as going two ways. Either he rids himself of an under-performing player or being exposed lights a fire in Mrazek and he actually puts together a full season of play. Times have changed and good goalies are not nearly as hard to find as they used to be.....as long as you have a competent GM that is.
