Guy is a treat to watch and I know 10-20 years from now I'll still consider him my favorite player of all time. Such a unique player and I really wish I didn't take the 2006-2011 seasons for granted. Best player in the NHL for a period of time.

I've rarely missed a wings game in 10 years, and I've had little to no interest in the past 15 games or so. I just don't get excited for games this year and even when I watch I find myself not wanting to pay attention. Larkin is the only player who seems to play hard and does anything remotely exciting.
I'm over Blashill as well. How long are we going to keep Dats with Helm and Richards??? An infant could realize we need to mix up the lines but that seems to fly over his head.

I also had my first game at the Joe, travelling from Sudbury (few hours north of Toronto)about 8 years ago.
Its for sure a different atmosphere compared to say, Toronto, but I can comfortably say you have nothing to worry about when it comes to danger. Plan where your going before hand and make sure to go early. Id even try to be there for 5 oclock just to make sure you dont miss ANYTHING. If thats too early just go eat at a restaurant close to the arena or something. Soak up the experience, I found Detroit a very unique city. (Maybe because it was the first time and only time I had seen an American city) The Joe is a beautiful arena on the outside (those steps ) and the actual ice area is beautiful as well.

Yeah the Joe is the only arena I've been to where they actually allowed me to go right up to the glass. Was 14 at the time and will never forget how blown away I was when Legwand was right in front of me for the Preds . I was surprised how big the NHL players were.
Honestly, I can't say enough good things about that arena. I've been to 4 now and nothing is even remotely the same. All seats are top notch thanks to the 1 large bowl. The rafters alone are legendary.
Also, if you've been to Baltimore, I'd say you have nothing to worry about in Detroit haha

I feel like Mrazek has slowed down as of late but I'm still more confident in getting a win when hes in net. He seems to do enough in order to win. Jimmy is almost the opposite, does just enough to lose....no matter how well he plays

The difference is Varlamov was a 23yr old RFA and Schneider was a 26yr old on a good contract.
Howard is 31 and has a big contract.
Those guys had their best years ahead of them. We've probably seen the best Howard has to offer.
He's just not the same value as those guys. Especially in a cap system.

I could see a late 1st or a couple 2nd rounders for Howard at most.
Plus we'd probably have to either take salary back or retain some.
It could be an expiring UFAs salary, but there's no way we're dumping that 5mil with nothing coming back.

Regardless it's an offseason deal if it happens at all.

Pulkinnen = 6
Kindl = 4
3rd pick = 3
And Toews = 15

Holland isn't completely stupid. If someone would have offered him a pick for Ferarro he wouldve taken it. He probably got claimed solely on the fact that he was a Red Wings 2nd round pick

We could probably get a 2nd round pick for Jurco, at worst a 3rd.And Andersson may be slower, but he's bigger, stronger, smarter and better defensively than Ferraro.
I wish he would've made it to grand rapids but he'll end up back in the AHL at some point anyway.
