I want to learn more about the history of the NHL and the many changes that have occurred in its long history. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good books or any good websites that discuss this. Thanks.

Agreed. If Kenny can fit Conks in under the cap then you take him and trade Howard. I'm sure there is some team out there that is willing to take him. I was never impressed by him and I think he started to play worse in GR as time went on.

Length isn't a problem for me. If Hossa signs, he will have signed before he was 35 and that salary will come off of the books when he retires.

Sign Hossa and if things don't work out, trade him. There are plenty of s*** teams that would pick up his salary just to sell tickets. I know you won't get the same value in return, but when do you ever receive the same value in return for a star player? Never.
