Am I the only one who absolutely does NOT want to trade Tatar? As in under no circumstances should Tatar be traded because he hasn't even had one full year in the NHL to show all that he's got? I don't understand why anyone would want to trade away so much homegrown potential. Trade/buy out the "fat", pick up an FA or two who can play a nice supporting role on this team to Hank and Pav and keep our youth and let that benefit us in the future (a la Hank, Pav, etc). If anything, Kenny can use some of his plethora of defensive prospects as trade bait.

I've always thought OT should be decided by 5 on 5 street hockey in the parking lot. First team to ten wins, win by 2. (man, the offseason is boring before July)

But....so...many...defensemen. A big powerforward, though? Yes please.

They're keeping the famous springy boards right? Oh, all the bank passes Lidstrom made off of those boards...

What a stupid thing to dedicate thought to. Just get rid of the shootout if they're going to take moves away. I mean what is the point of the shootout anyways, besides entertainment for the fans. The only thing I can understand is contact with the goalie, in which case they could implement a strict "no contact" rule - not ban a specific move. Get rid of the shootout and bring in the 5min 3 on 3 OT, or whatever was being proposed a couple of years (?) ago.

This is exactly how I feel. I always hoped he would turn out to be a more offensive (obviously less defensive) version of Helm. His speed is ridiculous. I've had surgeries on both of my ankles and I know how much that crap can set you back. I cringe every time I hear about players breaking, or otherwise seriously injuring their ankles. He did the in a preseason game didn't he?

Nothing is guaranteed. I would love it if they had that kind of mindset though, where they "knew" they would make the playoffs. That's the kind of thing that leads to upsets.

Yeah, I don't feel like there will be very many moves this offseason. Especially with the homegrown talent turning out so well. It would be awesome if we could go for Vanek next season though....

Sorry to pull this topic back up, but I feel it's worth a little discussion. Mursak's stats for the AHL playoffs is 20GP 10G 6A 16PTS +/- 14 He seems to be tearing it up down there. I haven't been able to watch full Griffs games so I've only been able to see highlights, so obviously I'm only going to see the good stuff, but damn he looks good out there! I'm just curious as to why the general consensus is that he has no place on the Wings roster. Is it mainly because of him getting injured? I know a stellar AHL performance doesn't always translate to success in the NHL but I feel like he could have some relevance on this team. I know he cleared waivers, so I'm obviously missing something. It just seems like a shame that he's just going to walk.
