3/24 GDT: St. Louis Blues @ Red Wings, 2:00 PM ET

For those of you saying its no goal because its inconclusive, they changed that rule this year. If by logic we can assume its in the net (say the goalie catches the puck but his glove is behind the goal line) then its supposed to be called a goal

    Edmonton Finally Wins

The avs aren't out of it. They verse Calgary two more times before the playoffs which leaves only one point's difference between the two teams. I'm still hoping for an avs wings round 1.

    Fighting?

If you take a look at the list of injured players right now, the vast majority of them are out of the line up NOT because of fights they got into. They got hurt because of cheap and dangerous checks and high sticks. If they're really worried about people getting hurt they need to focus more on players charging from behind and the like, which is something the players, coaches and fans don't like seeing. Fighting rarely causes injuries (especially to the case where players are out for more than a week), and it brings a good source of needed entertainment to the league, not to mention safety for the smaller, more talented scorers. The bottom line is fighting is required for a complete hockey league.

Everyones' favorite NHL team and why

My favorite backup team to root for is St. Louis. I remember when I first started watching hockey back in the early 90's during one of the playoff rounds where the Blues took the Wings out of the playoffs. For some reason instead of getting pissed off at them and hating them more than any other team, I respected their skill and dubbed them my "back-up" team for the Stanley cup. Even today they're still my favorite non-Detroit team to root for, despite their mediocre standings.

    Shootout lineup from the game

Yeah haha thats the one! I think i counted 11 dekes in there from the blueline before he took the shot

    Red Wings attendance is DISGUSTING!

I can't stand the Joe. Don't get me wrong, I've had some good memories there too, but the seats are uncomfortable and too close together- especially for your average 6 foot person. Maybe they'll put a new arena where the old Tiger Stadium is. Are there any plans to do anything to that yet?

    Vancouver Canucks

    We appreciate it

    Shootout lineup from the game

Hahaha i'd have Homer in my top three just to see his goofy 300 deek move

    Red Wings attendance is DISGUSTING!

Heres hoping we get past the second round in the playoffs. That'll give us fans something unexpected and above par to cheer for.

Maybe babcocks telling the team to play terrible the last couple games so we're underestimated in the playoffs :/

    Vancouver Canucks

His grit is the main reason we got him. I'm sure he knows whats expected of him and what role he should be playing. My main worry is how long it will take for him to get his game back from missing 60 games

    Vancouver Canucks

Yeah but we have Bertuzzi and Calder, two players who are more than willing to chase the puck into the corner after dumping it in, and often times can come out of the corners with it. I don't think the trap will be as effective this year as it has in the past. We have more grit to our team, and thats going to go a long way.

    Reffing the past 5 games....

They were in the penalty box for most of the game because they didn't show up to skate

    Vancouver Canucks

The wings shouldn't have a problem so long as they get out of their annoying habit of shooting directly into the pads of the goalie come playoff time.

    Most Annoying NHL Fans

Honestly ive been pretty annoyed with wings fans over the past couple years. During our staney cup reign in the late 90s we were the wildest crowd out there- enough to coin the name Hockeytown with Joe Louis. It was so awesome when the commentators had to compete with the "lets go redwing chant" for loudness over the tv. Now most of the people that I see go to games don't really seem that interested in whats going on on the ice, atleast not interested enough for us to keep our Hockeytown name. I envy Toronto for their wild fans. I want to see tons of octopi on the ice this year and a sea of red and white even at away games!

    Say no to Avs

I would love to see a wings avs round 1. I also think it would be a bit easier than going up against Calgary. Besides, you know what they say, all streaks end eventually, and that goes for Calgary's slump as of late as well as Colorado's invincibility. I believe we have a much better winning history against the avs anyway.

ehhh, I don't think I like Bert with Homer and Datsyuk... but I suppose with Zetterberg gone it wouldn't hurt to experiment.

    Babs calls out Hasek...what gives?

I'm in full support of Babcock's move. When you're this close to the playoffs you need to get rid of those habits as early as possible. If that was a game 7 it would all be over. Don't get me wrong, I also believe a big part of the reason we lost was because of how messy everyone else played- but you better believe they're going to get whats coming to them also; just in the form of a tough practice or two

    Datsyuk rumor

I believe I heard in a game a couple days ago that Holland planned on resigning him before the playoffs begin. Apparently Datsyuk's agent said they were close to an agreement and Datsyuk was happy with the way things were going. Although I may have misheard this, but I'm fairly confident thats what was said.

    Reffing the past 5 games....

Quoted for truth. the only games the wings actually showed up to play out of the past 5 were against Nashville. Many of the penalties we had were well deserved, much of them resulting from being positioned wrong, or just losing self control.

Datsyuk proving he can score without Zetterberg

As long as Datsyuk stays on a line with Zetterberg and Holmstrom, I honestly don' t think it will matter much whether he scores or not. That line was arguably one of (if not the most) productive lines this year, and opponents in the playoffs will defenetly have their best defensemen keeping an eye on them. That leaves a better chance for 2nd and 3rd line scoring, especially now with net-crash-happy Calder and Bertuzzi on the team. But even so, as long as Homer stays on the line and is causing distress in front of the net, it will give Datsyuk more room to play around (and hopefully score). Holmstrom has an uncanny ability to attract defensemen.
