Good mood... phone and DSL restored.
Really bad mood... phone and DSL go out again (three days after the fix)
Grouchy and guarded mood... phone and DSL back after four days out again.
(it's hard to type when your fingers are crossed that you're not gonna lose your connection again!)

Do you know that the phone company had the balls to use that lame excuse AGAIN? "The squirrels chewed through the line". Twice in 1.5 weeks???
The squirrels apparently drive a truck for the local phone company. My neighbor and Mr. Muse figured out that after the neighbor's phone went out, the phone company fixed his line but knocked ours out. Then, a few days later when they got around to fixing our line, they knocked the neighbor's out again. So, a few days later they fixed his (and knocked out ours again), then they eventually fixed ours (and knocked out his again).
So far, both of us have had service for the past two days. I'm afraid it'll go out tomorrow and we'll have nothing until the middle of next week.
Ok... gotta follow that up with a happy mood thing...
my cat Romeo is sitting on my lap, watching me type, and purring while drooling. He loves me.

drop the DSL and go for Cable, and switch your phone to Vonage.
you won't have any phone line problems after that.

It's pretty humorous right now actually. Dumb-ass technology, and I actually thought for a minute that I was actually good at reparing stuff!
Fixing the system for good turns the mood 180 degrees into really good mood! I can actually fix stuff! WOO HOO!

| All righty...I'm just turning from frustrated into downright wanting to punch my fist into something right now. I'm trying to fix my PS2, I've taken it apart and tweaked it up a bit, I finally got it to reading disks, but it goes from initially reading them to not reading them at all! ARGH! lol....reminds me of repairing my NES
