Has anyone else put a deposit down on one of these yet?
(They also had a catalog that had a listing of 15-20 games that will be available at launch or immediately after.)

Will probably get the 360 at launch as well, and hopefully not have to buy a second one due to theft again!

| Got my first Xbox at launch, and never had a problem with it. Only reason I had to get a second one was because the first one was stolen when my apartment was broken into... Will probably get the 360 at launch as well, and hopefully not have to buy a second one due to theft again! |
ya but there were many complaints on the faulty Thompson CD/DVD players, so MS changed the type of model they used and put philips and samsungs in.

| I'm very tempted, but think I'll wait it out until April. Amped 3, Saints Row & Full Auto look pretty cool, but nothing so far has made me think I've got to have the system ASAP. |
i know, the 360 looks more like an xbox 1.5 than anything else. everybody in the industry is sayng how the game don't look like they should.
there was a preview for nhl 2k6 for 360 in this months EGM, and the guy said it looks like a ps2 game.
i dont doubt the system will be sweet, but im waiting for this

Just like the PS2 has kicked the XBox's butt.

I'm an Xbox loyalist, through and through, but I'm starting to think that you're gonna be right on this.
I think that Microsoft is more focused on beating Sony and Nintendo in terms of getting their console out first, not beating them in terms of quality of the system.
I think they'll be more competetive in the next-gen market than they are currently, but I still think that Sony's gonna be the heaviest hitter in the market for awhile.
But I'm still getting a 360 when it comes out.

I think the 360 is doomed.
About 70% of all current-gen consoles sold have been PS2s.
Gamecube and XBox sales are about even.
The XBox is only there because the Gamecube lacked online play and the XBox excelled at it.
The 360 has no advantages in power or reliability over the other two next-gen systems.
As far as I know, 360 is not backwards compatible, while the PS3 is.
Backwards compatibility is one of the things that drove PS2 sales up.

And if you want to play the backwards compatability card, Nintendo's gonna have them both beat. Rumors are that the Nintendo Revolution will be FULLY backwards compatable. All 20 years of Nintendo games playable.
4th Bullet Point Down
But I have no idea how in the heck they'd be able to pull that off... This are just rumors, though...

| Well, they're still working out their plans for backwards compatability. It looks like you're going to have to download the drivers via Xbox Live in order to play some of the original games. So it's not going to be out-of-the-box backwards compatable. Although it won't sink the system, it's definately at a disadvantage if they don't figure it out... From what was said at E3, wasn't it a download?
