SONY has released a psp software upgrade in japan. You cant dl it directly onto your psp here yet, but it's on ign.com and if you have a usb cable it can be updated in 10 minutes. The update adds support for some new media formats, a wallpaper feature, better menus and best of all the web browser i'm using to post this.

did you get your psp from japan? i want to dl it but im not sure if it will mess it up.
