Production Line 1 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 I say no, we could of used the money for something better. Now $1-1.5 million per year would of been much more reasonable...

Saran 1 Report post Posted August 7, 2005 we'll see if hes worth it when the season starts, he has been doing good
Heaton 1 Report post Posted August 7, 2005 Sure he's worth it, he was an important part on the Canadiens during their last cup run, if I remember correctly, him and Desjardans we're the #1 and #2 defensemen. His point speak for themselves, he's at the point in his career where he's just below Lidstrom is offensive ability, but just above the average defensemen in defense ability. There was really no other defensemen of his calibre that would be had for under 3m. If Gonchar is worth 5m a season, Schnieder is worth 3.3, easily.

Terrible Ted 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2005 What was Kenny thinking? Schneider is going to provide alot of leadership on the blueline for us and take over much of the role Chelios has played the last several years. He is about the most fearsome player we have right now. He is well worth the money.

p.datsyuk13 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 he is a good player. however with the new (f*cking, stupid-ass) CBA $3.3 mill is alot for an aging d-man
Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 Time will tell, but I'm leaning more towards him being worth it. With Datsyuk gone, the team is going to need to rely more on it's defense, and finding a Dman as skilled as Schneider for less than the 3.3 he signed would be difficult. theman19 47 Report post Posted September 8, 2005 he came pretty close to that norris last go around. I say if he wins it he will be more than worth it.
mangothrower 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2005 I'm one of the biggest fans of Lidstrom that there is...but with the salary cap, I have to say that at $7.6M even he is overpaid.
Err0rB0Y4o4 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2005 For 2 years? Great deal, but I think the Wings should have spent that somewhere else. I love Scheider, great defensemen, great for the wings, just the money could have been used to by up a needed forward.
McVogel91 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2005 This guy is a great asset to the team. I think he fits in well with the Wings and can even play a mentor roll with guys like Lebda and Kronwall, assuming we bring Lebda back up like we should.
