640 TORONTO: reports a trade rumour that would see the Maple Leafs trade Ed Belfour and Wade Belak to the Detroit Red Wings for forward Henrik Zetterberg. This move would then allow the Leafs to sign Curtis Joseph for half of what Belfour makes.

this would be a TERRIBLE deal. we dont need an old goalie. we arent going to make a run for the cup this year, so we better not sell our teams soul for a goalie with only a couple of years left.
and i cant imagine that belfour and belak for zetterberg would really help our cap situation

Yeah right. Get a goalie like Belfour with back problems, and is getting old..and give up ZETTERBERG. This has got to be the funniest rumor yet. Ken has said he wants to keep Zetta, and will no trade him. You do realize Toronto thinks they will get EVERYONE.

If this is true, it would be the biggest ripoff trade in history!
Belak is garbage and so is Eddie. His wonky back and his high salary is not what the Wings need.
Here in Toronto, they are crying about having Eddie in goal. They know he's too old and gimpy. Why would we want him?

If this happens, I am officially throwing every piece of red wings memorabilia I have away. Belfour is OLD, as in Osteoporitis Lumbar aching Dud, this is a terrible, terrible idea.
