Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 would that mean that the leafs would pull a roenick on nolan...to the wings perhaps?
Hockey Master 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 would that mean that the leafs would pull a roenick on nolan...to the wings perhaps? I doubt it. Nolan's health is still in question, and though he believes he is ready to play for the Leafs, the Leafs are just about ready to dump him the cheapest way possible. The Wings, I think, would be foolish (an understatement) to take on Nolan's contract, currently over $5 million. Why take him for $5 mil. when they could get Datsyuk and Zetterberg for $6 million? I have no interest in Nolan either, but to be clear: If the Leaf's don't get their way and Nolan gets paid, then he will be bought out and it won't be counted towards their cap. And if they do get their way, his contract is up anyways. So there's no way he gets $5M this season.
