Bliz 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2005 I saw on CNN that Jerry Rice announced his retirement this afternoon. Congrats to him on a great career--a rare combination of talent and class. Might as well start making room for him in the Hall of Fame now.
gowingsgo 3 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 Congrats to Rice for finally hanging them up. May he go down as the best WR in NFL history. No questions asked. Also congrats to the best current WR in the NFL, HINES WARD for getting a contract the right way....take some notes TO. Time to break out The Terrible Towel again. Will be interesting to see the first team offense with a 3rd string RB starting and a struggling soph. QB who hasnt put any points on the board in the pre-season. timothy1997 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 I often get criticized for this...but Jerry Rice was the best football player ever. Hands down he holds more records than anyone. He dominated the game longer than anyone else has. He revolutionized the wide receiver position. His work ethic is classic in he would never settle and always worked hard til the end. Thank you, Jerry Rice. Thank you for the memories.
