I sure did. I would love to see him play again, it would be a gift. I don't really see him coming back to Detroit, as the club has committed to Jimmy and Joey Mac has earned the back up spot. Jimmy wasn't the reason we didn't get very far in the playoffs.

What would be interesting would be if Buffalo signed him to back up Miller. I truly believe Buffalo would have a shot at the Cup with that tandem.

Unless Bettman gives it away again in the finals on an illegal goal, that is.

Hasek and Miller together would turn me into a Buffalo fan (after the Wings, of course). That would be a fantasy tandem.

I would like to see Hasek get a Cup for Buffalo (again, assuming the Wings are not their opponent). There would just be some sort of poetic justice.

Loo, the minute I saw this I KNEW you would be hopping on it. Do you really think he'll do it??? And if this happens, will Cheli be far behind? I don't ask that question facetiously, because I know how much of a workout demon he is, and I know what shape he's in.

I think he will come back and play... however, people who think he will go just anywhere are wrong. Maybe Buffalo, or the Wings. He loved being a Red Wing, even if the fans didn't want him here. The players and owners and management did. So, I don't see him going to Pittsburgh as some weirdo suggested. How stupid.

I would say Detroit or Buffalo. Maybe Tampa Bay, because of Stevie. It will be somewhere sentimental and emotional for him, I would wager. I can't say what he will do anymore than anyone else can, but I know him and his logic. He hss a preferred plan in mind. He is motivated by emotion. He won't go to a non-contender --- since he never has any goal in mind aside from winning it all.

As for Cheli, I don't know about him playing again. Yes, he's an exceptional athlete, but he really slowed down his last season. Dom never did. The season after he left, he won the Czech national championship and set new records for consecutive wins and shut outs in the process. He took his KHL team to the finals in the championships in Russia. No drop off in competitiveness or caliber of play with Dom.

Guess we will see what the big dogs decide on the vintage goalie. One thing I will say: he might bring some sort of excitement back to the NHL. Anything would help.

I know you wouldn't have seen it, but there is a video (in Russian) of Pasha with his daughter being honored for his gold medal in the WC. One, she is gorgeous, and two, she is being interviewed and can't stop gushing over how proud she is of her daddy. She's not the only one!

Don't know if it will get you there, but if it does, you kinda have to wade through a lot to get to it. He looks so proud and happy, though.

OK, that's adorable. Sure wish Lisa had gotten the chance to gush over Dad winning the Stanley Cup, too. Good for Pasha that he's having a great summer, though. Hopefully, he and all the Wings come back re-energized next season.

I am always interested to see how comfortable and eloquent players are in their native languages. The media likes to make fun of foreign players with accents -- when they're in reality probably much higher in terms of IQ than the interviewers.
