LOVE THAT QUOTE! And yes, you should! Then I could frame it and hang it up in my office too!... it did make her forget whatever she was going to yell at us about, so the goalies made the save! I should piece together an updated version that includes Howard, Conk, and Joey Mac...
So the power went out literally just as I finished my last post two nights ago. It was a long one, so that sucked! I do remember some of what it said.., most of all, thank you ladies for not judging me! I was pretty scared to come back after laying it all out there like that.
So I guess I didn't tell you about going to the Griffins game last Saturday! I went alone, my hubby's still sick. I sat in front of these people that got the tickets from the mascot for free; they weren't really into hockey unfortunately so I had to be pretty quiet. Not my specialty. But something really cool happened! The Love for Lokomotiv ladies were there selling bracelets (which I already have) and next to them there was a fundraiser going on for this Grand Rapids fallen officer. The entire team had all signed one of their sticks and you could buy them for $65 each, there was only one per player, and Joey Mac's stick was still available! So I went to the ATM, and went back, and THE GUY IN FRONT OF ME BOUGHT THE STICK. I was SO mad!!
Then Wednesday I went Ozzie Stalking in Toledo for the Walleye game. Didn't see him. Turns out the matinee game, is KID'S DAY.
I can say that 6500 middle school kids singing Justin Beiber and Miley Cyrus songs during intermission gets old really, REALLY fast. As does them screaming FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT every time someone gets slammed into the boards. I went to see McCollum, but he was pulled up to Grand Rapids on Tuesday due to Joey being "day to day" so there was this dude from San Jose there. It wasn't pretty. I didn't like him immediately because he wore #30. As if. Then I found out he was with the Sharks. Strike 2. Then they scored on him when there were FOUR Walleye players around ONE Chicago player. None of the Walleye guys were screening him, for the record. Then he let 3 more in within a 2 minute time period. I'm all for the score due to the entire team's overall effort, but damn. That's all I'm gonna say about that.
OK, before the power goes out again, I'm going to add this reply!
Happy Veteran's Day!!
Thanks, Oz. So nice of you to always be thinking of the fans!!!!

Hopefully Mr. I'm Number 30 has a change of heart and number before he hits the big time. We'll think the best of him and imagine that he's just as big of an Ozzie fan as we are (minus the chick thing, of course).
Money on the board: $40
Thanks for a great season, guys. You exceeded expectations and have given us something to look forward to as the long summer approaches.
And next year we get to start in October, like hockey is SUPPOSED to.

But I had nothing to worry about at all!! And that is awesome, so thanks for making me feel welcome!
Is that not the most wonderful feeling, to lay out some secret that's eating at you and have other people be like, "hey, we understand"? This place is great.
And that is so cool how you got to buy Joey Mac's stick-- when it was probably still warm from his hands! But I'm sorry the Walleye game was ruined by the Invasion Of The Children.
So, yesterday was my dad's birthday (technically he's my stepdad, but he's my heart-dad), so Casey and I took him to see the Wings POUND the Stars as his birthday gift. We had awesome seats, until this dude with a GIANT HEAD sat down in front of me and I had to spend the rest of the game trying to look around him. My dad is 6'3", and even he was having trouble seeing over and around this guy! It was like sitting behind a damn Peanuts character! The dude could have been his own bobblehead. And then GIANT HEAD BOY and his girlfriend and the couple they came with were all so freaking drunk they were slurring their words. And apparently drinking makes them all, um, amorous, because they were acting like they were in a cheap motel that rents by the hour and has coin operated magic fingers attached to the beds. Do you have any idea how awkward it is to watch people darn-near having fully clothed sex while you're sitting next to your dad???
Anyway, we all had an awesome time, GIANT HEAD BOY and the makeout crew notwithstanding. And I have warm-up pictures! Also, Pasha made eye contact with me during the warm-ups. I kind of feel like I've had direct eye contact with some sort of semi-divine being now. And Conklin also made eye contact with me, with a nice sort of twinkly-eyed smile look. And Brunnstrom did too, but he's still a rookie so he probably still looks at all the fans instead of staying hyper-focused like everyone else does in warm-ups.

I tried to get some shots of the detail of Conk's helmet, since he parked himself right there and I hadn't seen it up close before:

It occurs to me that I have a rather large number of pictures of Jimmy Howard's goalie bootie:

This one looks kind of like it could be a poster for an action movie or something. Miller would just have to be skating away from an explosion or a supervillain:

Apparently I can only get good shots of Cleary if my husband is either not there or is looking the other direction. Hmmm.

Goodness, Abby's growing into his looks quite nicely:

Apparently Conk thinks something is hilarious, but he didn't share the joke with me so I can't report back on sources of goalie humor:

Lidstrom using his Super Secret Sweden Powers to cause two Dallas players to collide behind him:

And here was the view from my seat before GIANT HEAD BOY sat down:

It makes me feel good to know he doesn't like shootouts either.

...Honey, look away, I have a good shot of Cleary!
...Lidstrom using his Super Secret Sweden Powers to cause two Dallas players to collide behind him
LOVE IT!!
And, what's wrong with having a large number of Jimmy's goalie bootie pics?? I do.
So, when I stretch as tall as I can, I am a total of 5' 4". I feel your pain with big head guy! At least it was an awesome game to take your mind off the PDA going on in front of you! Talk about awkward. I think that would be worse than having just regular drunk guys in front of you. Uh, Happy Birthday Dad?! Yeah.
I have been going to a lot of games lately, Dawn. I just decided if I'm going to have fun, I might as well just do it! I was on the Grand Rapids Griffins website the other day, and BEFORE realizing it was 3 hours away bought tickets. HA. Then I'd been wanting to go see the Walleye for awhile, so I just happened to have a ridiculous week at work and decided, damn it, I'm goin! So I did! Now I'm kinda depressed that I don't have another one until 11/23!!
Thanks, Oz. So nice of you to always be thinking of the fans!!!!

I didn't put it together when we first got Drew either. But I have to say, they are both handsome men. I like Drew's gray hair.
I'm back from my weekend in Nashville. Had SO much fun at the Preds/Habs game! Went to a new restaurant Loo that we may have to try!!!

I do too. It's such an interesting contrast with his very young-looking face.
