Is Joey MacDonald going to be in Grand Rapids this season, or has Howard got the starting job locked up?

Howard has it easily, and if he continues to play well, he might be able to push for the starting position.

If MacDonald can prove he's over his back injury, and can play well like last year, Legace is a goner....no way you keep Manny when you can pay a guy less than half.

You don't mean the starting position in Detroit, do you?
There is no way the Wings are going to rush Howard to the show.

If MacDonald clears waivers, I think he and Jimmy Howard will play evenly..about 40 games for each of them. Maybe a few more games for one of them if they stay hot for a while.

No. We didn't sign Osgood and keep Legace to have a rookie start for us.

I just noticed Joey hasn't played in any of the scrimmages...is he still sitting out from surgery 3 months ago??

bottom line... unless ozzie or manny get hurt, he will be in GR and even if he is called up, he won't play a whole lot

Yes, he was sitting out because of his surgery... he is easing back into skating. He skated daily at camp, but not with the teams...

yes, he will backup Howard and work on re-gaining his game back after the major back surgery.

It was a minor surgery, and once he's healthy again (any day now) he'll be the starter in GR.
