No Calgary? No Vancouver?
In a 2005 study published by the journal Nature, researchers at Durham University in England concluded that, across a range of sports, we found that wearing red is consistently associated with a higher probability of winning. The researchers also suggested that red's effect may subconsciously intimidate opponents in athletic contests, especially when the athletes are equal in skill and strength.

I say the Flyers. They'll be ready come the post season. Ottawa looks pretty good too. If Hasek can stay healthy and alert, they've got a shot as well.

I dont think the Flyers will do anything...their 2nd and 3rd lines sure havent. Forsberg is bound to get injured and Hatcher is worthless.
I agree with you on Ottawa, but Hasek staying healthy is a BIG "if".

Wings...great all-around team, three excellent defensemen (four if Kronwall makes it back), two very good goalies, great depth offensively and defensively.
Oh, and I love the omission of Calgary and Vancouver from consideration.

That's the whole point. How many would have guessed Tampa Bay last season? Philadelphia has the talent for sure, just need to get it together. The big question mark is Esche.

Ottawa will be tough, but I can see them breaking down in the playoffs once again. The only difference is that, this year, they have a goalie that can go the distance.
It's amazing how much clarity comes when you care more about the Red Wings than any individual player.

I say Ottawa just because of the firepower they have and goaltending. If Hasek gets injured though, my vote goes to Detroit

I'd have to place my bet on Ottawa, now that they have a great veteran goalie to anchor them through what is normally considered their dissapearing stage I.E. They also seem to be the only team that has only gotten stronger in every aspect of it's game since the last season.
God put me on earth to do a certain number of things. Right now I'm so far behind I'll never die.
