Hatcher#2 13 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 (edited) http://www.griffinshockey.com/newsroom/news/?id=4459 Barnes52 and a few others will like this guy Edited January 4, 2006 by Hatcher#
norrisnick 1 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 Interesting that they picked him up just before the Bulldogs game. Hamilton ran Manny a handful of times and were just generally chippy last week. Gives the Griffs an extra big body to help out. peace

Hatch..many thanks! By the way, I answered my own question about who he replaces, it seems the Griffs have been looking for veteran D-Men because they're running low. Hatch..many thanks! By the way, I answered my own question about who he replaces, it seems the Griffs have been looking for veteran D-Men because they're running low. A couple of weeks ago the Griffs tried to bring Brad Norton over from Finland and they tried to keep it quite but the Binghamton Senators picked Norton up off waivers before he had a chance to play for the Griffs. I didn't mention this in case it was a mistake but the Jorde signing proves that it was true. This signing has been a long time coming for the Griffs. Amadio has been doing great in the fighting department this year but he knows his limits and this signing should help him and Bootland out a bit. This Hamilton game should be interesting tonight. fightfan24 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 He is a nice addition -- hits and can fight like a bulldog. His willingness to look after his mates is huge. He really likes the ale I have heard but if he can cut back and focus he may see the NHL (not Detroit though since he is not a Swede). Good luck to the lad. Icer 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 I just checked his stats. 1 goal and 7 assists in 126 AHL games. Over 200 pims and most of those came his first season. Those are some crappy stats. One thing's for sure. No one's going to mistake this kid for Bobby Orr. He sounds more like Brad Marsh.

Barnes52 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 (edited) He didnt look good at all in his first game this evening. Then again, none of the Griffins did. Bootland did, he took on Aitken once again and won, then he assisted on Fillipula's goal, on a play started by Bootland by denying a clearing attempt. I'm glad he's not playing for Detroit, because what would we do with Mowers?... Edited January 5, 2006 by Barnes52

I'm glad he's not playing for Detroit, because what would we do with Mowers?... Bootland did play well again, did you watch the game Barnes52, that was a sweet left Bootland landed on Aitken to send him down. The fight was over that quickly that refs didn't even see it so they gave them both double roughings.LOL

He wasn't signed to put points on the board, he was signed to hit and protect his team mates and take some of the slack off of Bootland and Amadio.

I'm glad he's not playing for Detroit, because what would we do with Mowers?... This debate comes up in every thread. I'm not so sure why Holland shies away from guys who drop the gloves so much, seeing as Darren McCarty was one of the most popular players this team ever had. I'm glad he's not playing for Detroit, because what would we do with Mowers?... I agree. I would love to see Bootland take Mowers spot on the team. Bootland is pretty solid night in and night out... By the way..I just missed that fight.. i walked into the arena, and Bootland was already on top of him. Everyone was silent, and then i'm come running down the stairs cheering my ass off..lol

What's the matter with finding someone who can do both? Every enforcer type the Griffins have tried in the last few years look like they should play in a beer league, not the AHL. I'm not looking for someone who is going to lead the team in scoring, just someone who can chip in a point every couple of games.

Thats fair enough and thats why i was hoping that the Wings would have signed Robin BigSnake this year to play in Grand Rapids, but the Griffs are the leading team in offence in the Ahl this year so they don't need more people to put points on the board, they needed a solid stay at home D-man and thats why they went out and signed Jorde. You'd have to draft a guy like that and Kenny is too busy drafting long shot players in Europe to waste a pick on someone like that.
