Nashville will have gained some confidence out of last nights' win, but I say our boys refuse to be embarrassed two nights in a row and pull out a close one.
3-2 in favor of the Wings sounds about right.
Can't wait to read the "Phoenix: I still think it's a hockey market" chapter of Gary Bettman's autobiography. I'm guessing it's going to be chapter 11.

Even though they should blow Nashville out after last night's game, I still think it's going to be another close one. Vokoun is nasty and I think he will make a lot of good saves again. Wings win a close one in regulation despite outshooting Nashville 38 to 20...

Wings 4 (Datsyuk (2), Holmstrom, Schneider,)
Preds 3 (Hartnell, Erat, Sullivan)

PS: Happy bday Never Forget Mac #25

Erat is out with a strained hip (hurt last night). Upshall was recalled from Milwaukee (where he assisted on Greg Johnson's goal last night against the Wings).

It's amazing how much clarity comes when you care more about the Red Wings than any individual player.

"They are the best team in the world. They are a team that can just take over when they want to," Chicago's Patrick Kane said (of the Detroit Red Wings).

My B on Erat. That stinks though cause he's a good player but i guess that makes up for no Kronwall or Fischer. wink.gif I really miss these guys.
Red Wings win with one second left in OT...thanks to Pavel Datsyuk

Hi all,
I'm new to these boards. Just another intelligent Preds fan looking for another place to talk hockey. This game worries me, but at the same time, it doesn't. It's such a long season series, and I predicted that the Wings and the Preds would split it from the very beginning. So, I wouldn't be upset either way. I hope the Preds win though. So here's my bold prediction:

Kariya gets back on track. Two goals
Sully gets 1.
Fiddler gets 1.

Datsyuk gets 2
and I'll give Stevie Y 1.

Preds 4
Wings 3

Let the race begin.

My name on the Preds boards is cinepuck, so I'll sign my name as that.

Wow theres some real pissed off Wings fans in these forums. I think the Wings come out strong tonight and play a good defensive game and come out on top in the score board. If Legace does start tonight I think you'll see him play a stellar game in net with something to prove. Should be a good game. Wings need to get that 3 point spread in the division back tonight.

I'm with you 100%. First of all, I think the loss last night is being blown way out of proportion. I admit the Preds are probably the battle we will need to win come playoff time if we want a chance at the cup, but if it weren't for the goal that was rolled over from Nov 21st, the game would have gone into overtime and possibly to a shootout. Besides, last night was only the 2nd of 8 meetings between the two teams and we are 1/1 against them up to this point. I think the Wings will come out tonight and show why they are at the top of the Western conference and then the fans who are so angry today, bashing everyone from the coach to the goalie will quiet down until the next loss. I hate to see the Wings lose too, but I was much more upset about the 6-3 loss to Dallas than last nights game.

Anytime. Also, I live in Mass and I'm hoping to go to Detroit sometime in the spring to catch a couple games at the Joe. What is the range on ticket prices?

Manny or Ozzie.....theyre both the same to me. They both had a hot streak and now theyre both playing mediocre. Well still have to score 3-4 goals to win the game at the very least.

I hope its a blowout with Datsyuk, Shanny, and Zetterberg chipping in. Maybe one from the Captain as well.

Well the wings don't show up at home - they try to score from center ice - Manny is getting softer everyday - and I don't see anyway the Wings are gonna win today.

I'd say start Ozzy because Manny is struggling so bad. They should just leave Holmstrom on the ice and our goaltender because he is the only one that actually gets in front of the net and everybody else is flying to the moon to get in the position to shoot the puck.
They need to call some players up and send some of our worthless Joes down. lol
Just for kicks, lets throw Mowers in the starting lineup.

Go Wings, even though they probably will blow it today too.

Woah, I have to defend Manny here. His stats over the last 4 games are NOT good. However, if you look at the shots that have gone in, almost every single one was tipped. Tipped shots are near impossible to save, and Manny has been absolutely shelled with tipped shots.

Two games ago, against the Avs, all 3 goals were tipped. Last game 1 goal was awarded before the even game started, one goal tipped, and one goal on a breakaway. You can't really blame him for the breakaway goal, yet we DID need him to come up with a big save, and he didn't.

Manny was not soft any of these last 4 games. Yet at the same time, Ozzy wasn't getting tipped shots on him, and played well last game. I say switch goalies and try to change things up a bit.

I'll be surprised if Babcock sticks with Manny on back to back games.

If we take the regular season series with the Wings, we take the division. If we take the division, the playoffs go through our house not yours. One step at a time. Last season, the Preds were supposed to get swept in the playoffs, but took it to six games and this years Preds are a much better team that last season's. There is a logic behind the madness.
