My cousin told me we did a few months ago it had something to do with the vowels and how we pronounce them but I shrugged it off and said "we do not have an accent." I know the yoopers have one but I couldn't believe that the lower peninsula had one.
Buuuuut, I was watching Seinfeld yesterday and heard Kramer pronounce Hockey and I sat there thinking to myself "what in the hell did he just say, he butchered the shiz out of that."

ya alot of people say that especially people from the west coast. trust me i have had westcoastwingsfan say on several occasions that I had a funny/ cute accent.
Its just all in where you are from!

Dont most people from the east coast say people like us from Michigan talk slowly?

I went to the michigear website that they guy created....one of em says Stuff fer the cahrr....so i said it...we really do put an h in our pronounciation of car....crrraazy

one thing that annoys me is when people from outside of Michigan say their O's and A's like their supposed to be said i guess.

Take it from a Canadian with cousins in Michigan, you guys have a noticeable accent. Some Michiganders have more of an accent than others, though.

Canadians living in Southern Ontario get so much American television that they barely have the stereo-typical Canadian "hoser accent". Or at least I don't notice it, anyway.
In addition to the ones in Michigan, I also have cousins down south. Man I wish I had a Southern accent.

I was surprised, but yes, we do. I even had a woman in California ask me if I was from Michigan. I asked her if it was tatooed on my forehead, but no, she could tell by my accent. And Lowpers talk faster than Yoopers.
Can't wait to read the "Phoenix: I still think it's a hockey market" chapter of Gary Bettman's autobiography. I'm guessing it's going to be chapter 11.
